Sinopsis
What is the rabbinic expectation of Messiah? What do they look for in Messiah? In Jewish thought, the Messiah is likened unto Moses. His life is a foreshadow and a prophecy of the Messiah to come. Therefore, when we look at, seek for and identify who the Messiah is, he must be like Moses, and be greater than Moses. There are parallels between Moses and Yeshua. In this session, we look at what those parallels are. Moses performed signs and miracles on behalf of the children of Israel. Yeshua, in His ministry, also performed signs and miracles on behalf of the people. Moses lifted up His rod, and showed dominion over the Red Sea and the Red Sea parted for the children of Israel. Similarly, Yeshua demonstrated dominion over the sea when he walked on the water (John 6:18-2). This is spiritually significant. The sea is seen to be the habitat/dominion of HaSatan, the serpent, or leviathan. When both Moses and Yeshua show dominion over the sea, it is showing dominion over the kingdom of darkness and HaSatan.
