We saw that one of the themes of Shavuot was that it was a wedding. There was a wedding at Mt Sinai between Yeshua and the House of Jacob and they became betrothed. Shavuot is connected to Feast of Trumpets because one of the themes of Trumpets is the resurrection of the dead. Ultimately, Yeshua and His bride are going to return to the earth and rule and reign during the Messianic era. There are two primary stages to a biblical marriage. Stage one is betrothal,(kiddushin) and you are legally married, but do not yet “dwell with”. Stage two is married, and you physically “dwell with” (nisuin). So the betrothal is connected with Mt Sinai, but the completion of the marriage is associated with Mt Zion. The ketubah is the Torah. There are blessings for obedience to the marriage vows) and curses for disobedience to the vows (Deut. 28, Leviticus 26).
