The conflict between Joseph and his brothers were a prophetic foreshadowing of the future splitting of the nation of Israel into Northern Kingdom and Southern Kingdom. Joseph reunited with his brothers foreshadows the future reuniting of Northern kingdom (Ephraim) and Southern kingdom (Judah). The two kingdoms will reunite into one kingdom.
