In the context of 2 Corinthians 3, Paul is speaking on how we minister to others. We are to minister to others through the new covenant, by the spirit, which is the Torah written upon our heart. We are not to minister to others in the “letter”. When we minister to others in the “letter” it is death because we minister in our flesh. We bring glory to ourselves, we have pride and arrogance, we think like a carnal Christian, we think we are in competition/rivalry with someone else’s ministry. Paul is teaching to us in 2 Corinthians 3 how to minister in the spirit, which is all about laying down your life for others, serving others, and loving others.
