Up until about 7 or 8 years ago, I felt like all you would hear during December was “Merry Christmas.” That was the norm. It was in tv and movies, in schools, and in stores. Everything was focused around Christmas. I knew December meant Christmas and that’s all I was focused on. Somewhat recently, those “Merry Christmas” greetings you’d see everywhere changed to “Happy Holidays” and other religions and traditions were beginning to be recognized and included in the celebrations happening around me and that’s when I started to realize that Christmas wasn’t the only thing happening during that time. That’s where my curiosity began.
