Matt and I tend to disagree on this episode — I love the humor and the way it sets up the film, “Serenity” — but I actually saw the film first and so it hits me in a way it doesn’t Matt. The series is clearly still finding its footing, but there is excellent world building and one of the most expertly and hilariously edited interrogation scenes of all time, despite the weirdness and out-of-placeness of the Reaver plot. Nevertheless, we see Summer Glau as River Tam really start to develop and become hypnotic as a character and an actor here, and thus it remains essential Firefly viewing (I mean, we only have 14, so….)
