I love these books and have for all my life. I love this movie and am thrilled that so many fans AND non-fans are loving it too. Welcome back, Bizzlers! I know it’s been a while since we’ve had a new guest but we’ve got a great one today: A fantastically fun (and very skilled) wargaming Twitch streamer from Germany named Bengt aka Hjalfnar of History Gaming Verified (HGV). He wears authentic (and hilarious) helmets from historical wars while he streams and loves engaging in history talk with his growing followers even while he’s (virtually) conquering Europe in WW2 in HEARTS OF IRON 4 or the whole world in EUROPA UNIVERSALIS 4. We talk about how he got into strategy gaming (which you know The Bizzle also loves which is why we connected and why I wanted him on the podcast) even while getting married and having kids and now is a streaming partner on Twitch with a great following that’s quite active on his Discord as well. I’m hoping this is just the first part of a series of podcasts about gaming – next time we aim to discuss where we think the future of gaming is going both in terms of hardware and software. One of the most underrated films of the past five years is perhaps the greatest dramatic performance of Ben Affleck as well. THE ACCOUNTANT did reasonably well in the box office, but never got green lit for a sequel despite excellent performances as well by Anna Kendrick and Jon Bernthal — both favorites of the Bizzle and Papa B and both with fantastic chemistry with Affleck. It may be about an accountant who is also a sniper but it’s really about mental illness and the effect it has on human relationships. The action, while thrilling and very realistic, is saved for just a few key scenes and perhaps was the reason for its modest box office was Average American wanted more violence. But from our perspective, this is an A+ minimalist perfection film that draws from a number of genres including noir, modern Western, and of course superhero tropes but is far, far more mature, intellectual, and profound than most genre fair. This is one of my faves, did it about 2 years ago with by Dad aka Papa Bizzle and he was an amazing wingman as always. I’ve been connecting THE MATRIX to DUNE for years but I only get a little bit in on this one; look for tons of DUNE content coming soon and THE MATRIX and STAR WARS will both be *HUGE* parts of that.
