ROGUE ONE rapid non-spoiler review (hint: I loved it)

Sinopsis

The Trump-volk were right to fear this movie; it’s bordering on a radical political viewpoint and gets that point across through a classic Star Wars world that feels totally like our own. Forget lovable main characters and lovable non-main characters - this movie completely blurs that line and has you truly invested in all members of the massive army of good/trying-to-be-good guys, not just the three or four main character Lucas model that we have gotten used to in Star Wars. This movie feels as reverent of and loyal to the original film as The Empire Strikes Back does and yet connects with our current political and military reality to a scary degree. This is the definitive Star Wars movie outside of the original trilogy, in my view, but I always saw the Lucas-verse as darker than is usually portrayed and interpreted.
