Scholar/friend Yarehk Hernandez, a PhD student in the religion dept. at Temple University where I studied Islamic Studies as well, talks about the history and legacy of Islam in Spain, which was then called Al-Andalus or Andalusia. We touch on the reverberations of the multicultural society of Al-Andalus for Muslims as well as for Christians and especially for the Jews, who were generally well-integrated and a critical part of Andalusian society. I studied this topic as well and is a very underrated aspect of the history of the major Western religions.
