He finally gets to the top, only to realize that it wasn’t what he really wanted after all. He made it to the top of the ladder, but the ladder was leaning against the wrong building. I heard that illustration as a young man and thought, “Wow, I don’t want that to be me. I don’t want to spend my life climbing the wrong ladder.” So how can you know?
