This week my guest is Chloe Valdary, a public intellectual and writer who has been published by the Atlantic, New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. Chloe is the founder of Theory of Enchantment which helps businesses fight racism systematically by combining the teaching of Dr. Martin Luther King with developmental psychology and pop culture materials. Through her work she aims to help others develop their understanding of social emotional learning and improve their ability to take care of each other. The three fundamental principles of her method around conflict resolution are: 1) Treat people as individuals, not political abstractions. 2) Criticize to uplift and inspire, never to tear down and destroy. 3) Root everything you do in love and compassion.
