Jesus comes near and starts to walk with them. They are prevented from recognizing him. Jesus inquires about their conversation. They ask Jesus if he did not know what had just happened three days prior. They described to Jesus the crucifixion. They had hoped that the Messiah would be coming because it was the third day, and they hadn't seen him.    Jesus stated that they were foolish and slow to believe. He explained that the crucifixion was necessary.    They invited Jesus to stay with them. When Jesus became their host, and broke the bread. It was then they recognized Him.
