"Now" speaks to a transition and a transformation that has occurred in the life of the believer. He didn’t receive forgiveness only to continue living as he lived in sin and bondage. Now recognizes ‘I used to be', ' what I used to do', and 'what I used to say'. There is a change of direction (conversion) and, therefore, a change of behavior.
