Amazing: the parallel between our current cultural situation and the time when Paul was writing to the church at Colosse.THEN, Rome ruled the world. Caesar was lord. The Pax Romana was the good news. There was not much room for any other God. So Paul writes that a new King has come. God rules. Jesus is LORD, and the truth about Jesus is the Good News, the Gospel. Over these four weeks, we will lift up Jesus as we study the Book of Colossians. I encourage you to read the 4 chapters over and over, to yourself and to your family. The Holy Spirit is leading us deeper into understanding and life practice.
