Nehemiah: Brick by Brick God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us...Ephesians 3: 20 This great and encouraging truth about Almighty God is lived out in the events of Nehemiah, a godly man working for a foreign empire. In this powerful story, Nehemiah faces what appears to be an impossible situation. He hears that the city of Jerusalem is in ruins. The people - his people - are in great trouble and disgrace. The walls are broken down and the gates are burned. The people are extremely vulnerable. In such an impossible situation, what on earth can be done? Over the next four weeks, we will walk with Nehemiah to see how our great God displays His power. Nehemiah prays with great sincerity (as we will be doing throughout the 100 Days of Prayer). He calls people to unity and to labour together in the reconstruction of the walls surrounding Jerusalem. They face resistance from within and without. And as they build the wall, they
