It gives us a glimpse into all the aspects of resistance that we've had towards surrendering our will to God and God's will for perfect happiness. It shows us parts of the ego that we've guarded and protected and tried to keep, even though it brought us misery and suffering and sadness and hurt. It sounds ridiculous, but you know, Jesus tells us that the secret of salvation is that you are doing this to yourself. So, on the one hand, we don't have anyone to blame, and on the other hand, we can accept the correction, release the ego, and be happy. It's that simple. Now, it may seem difficult in practice, but I assure you that it's much more challenging to maintain the ego and try to live according to the ego's belief system than to let it go. A Course of Miracles teaches us how to trust in God and follow the guidance practically. It'
