God came to Abram first. This is the same call we experience by the Holy Spirit when we enter a relationship with Jesus. Leave your sin behind, repent and turn. God is calling us by the spirit at work in us (Rom 8), convincing us of our need for Jesus (John 16), and we respond with belief and repentance (Act 2); which now God adopts us sons/daughters of God (Rom 8 & John 1:12).
