Mountain West Wire

Jeremy and Matt are back to recap a mostly terrible Week 3 of Mountain West football. Yes, there were games against three top-10 teams and five ranked overall, but winning just one of those games overall is not great (Boise State and New Mexico guaranteed the other win as it was a league contest). The quarterback play gets a lot of talk this week as Josh Allen struggled, again, Nevada went with a true freshman but lost, Fresno State might switch to grad transfer Marcus McMaryion and San Jose State suffered an injury to Montell Aaron. The bright spots were few and far between with Air Force's defense being a pleasant surprise in their loss to No. 7 Michigan and then San Diego State upsetting No. 19 Stanford.
