In a time before pay-per-view, word of mouth became an important source for a small promotion to survive. And no promotion had better word of mouth than Extreme Championship Wrestling. Tape traders (yes kids, that was a thing) would go crazy over the little company that could from Philadelphia. Many of those key shows coming out of their home base of the arena on the corner of Swanson and Rittner.This is basically a house show (live event) that became a super show. It is also a precursor to what would become the only ECW PPV to happen every year from 1997-2000.
