After a year, much has happened to Heidi and Catherine - babies, illness, a move overseas, motherhood ups and downs as well as all things feminism making the headlines. From Jakarta/Canberra this is OverHERd season 2. 

Heidi and Catherine continue their discussion with two incredible young women Alyssa Draskovic and Hannah Wandal who are contributing to feminism with campaigns to raise awareness on violence against women and initiatives that empower rural girls to be leaders.

Heidi and Catherine discuss the confronting listener feedback from the episode - Can men be feminists? We could have talked for hours about how all male orchestras sound different, that men and women are just different, mansplaining ... its the debate we had to have ... 

Heidi and Catherine start with furore over the new NZ opposition leader, chat gender equity on boards but not in the way you think, herald a new era for advertising that sets rules around gender stereotyping but then ask is this an attitude problem? We take a closer look at what happens when disrespectful attitudes to women go unchecked - what does it mean for women in sport, pay rates, for super, for vulnerable women and for safe learning environments - like universities. 

Catherine interviews Heidi Silberman - mother, playwright, actor and clown doctor - about her feminist journey, why the arts are important for women and whether women can be funny.

Adventure, courage, smarts and heroism aren’t just storylines for boys yet finding books for young girls is difficult. Heidi and Catherine talk through the books they love, the new series The Handmaid’s Tale based on Margaret Atwood’s 1980 novel, the Nasty Women's Panel at the Sydney Writers Festival, what to do about anger as a woman and respond to the first listener feedback. Joining OverHERd is Alyssa Shaw, PHD Candidate, President of the Australian National University Post-Graduate Association and gender advocate to talk through her feminist journey and what she is doing to make a difference.

The first ever guest, Jane Alver, PHD Candidate, mother, former President of the YWCA and gender advocate joins OverHERd. Heidi and Catherine also talk through the elusive balance challenge for women inspired by recent books by Mia Freedman and Tracey Spicer, they discuss pregnancy discrimination, different experiences of women from different socio-demographic backgrounds, the power of micro-funding women's ideas and initiatives, the pay gap and using women's purchasing power for good. 

Heidi and Catherine discuss their feminist journey's, they take a look at 'legsit' the Daily Mail's take on females in power, chat through Vice President Mike Pence ban on lunching and dinning with women coworkers alone, welcome former Australian PM Julia Gillard back to the spotlight, analyse the Kingdom of Women, a tibetan matriarchal tribe as well as revisit a local women's panel and generally talk about the status of feminism today.
