Ep. #318 - What does the good life look like for you?
05/08/2025 Duración: 08minThis week on The Journey, I reflect on the idea of the good life. What if you woke up tomorrow and found yourself living it? What would be different? What would you be doing? In this episode, I explore why asking these kinds of questions matters — sometimes even more than finding the answer. Ep. #317 - Completing the Threat Response Cycle
29/07/2025 Duración: 09minIn this episode, I reflect on the work of Emily and Amelia Nagoski and their insights into the threat response cycle. In today’s world, most of our threats aren’t physical — they’re emotional, mental, and psychological. And yet, our bodies still respond as if we're in danger. Too often, we suppress those feelings, leaving stress unresolved and our systems stuck in overdrive. I talk about why it’s essential to complete that cycle — to let our bodies burn off what was triggered — and how doing so can protect our mental and emotional well-being. I close with a reminder: whether through professional support or facing these challenges intentionally, healing begins with the choice to do the work.

Or is it simply a glass with water, until we assign it meaning? I also explore how our interpretations shape our experiences, and how the stories we tell ourselves can either limit us or set us free.

Despite these early hardships, she found a way forward—earning her college degree and discovering powerful truths about herself along the way. What struck me most about Lacey is not just what she’s endured, but the strength, wisdom, and self-awareness she’s gained through it all. Her story is a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we can find light—and sometimes, even gifts. I hope you’re as inspired by her journey as I was.
