  • Why do you call TabPFN a revolution for data science?

    01/03/2023 Duración: 49min

Prof. Dr. Frank Hutter and his team presented a "radically new approach" to tabular classification. It is a new tabular data classification method that takes < 1 second & yields SOTA performance (competitive with the best AutoML pipelines in an hour). So far, it is limited in scale, though: it can only tackle problems up to 1000 training examples, 100 features and 10 classes. It works best when all features are numerical and there are no missing values (but we believe when we focus on those cases we’ll also improve performance for them). • Industrial AI and Motion Control - how do we reduce engineering time?

    22/02/2023 Duración: 34min

Several conveyor belts transport chocolate bars: They are part of the demonstrator machine that shows how Artificial Intelligence can be used for motion control. What remains to be done in a real factory is to pack the chocolate bars – automated, of course. In this Intelligent Infeed Demonstrator machine from Siemens Digital Industries, the chocolate bars must be placed in evenly spaced slots on the outfeed belt. • LSTM for ABB's Augmented Operator

    15/02/2023 Duración: 57min

In this episode we have three guests from ABB and talk about the augmented operator - what is it supposed to do, how was it built and where will it be used? One requirement is the LSTM algorithm. 25 years ago, Schmidhuber and Hochreiter developed the LSTM algorithm. The breakthrough came with the tech companies from Silicon Valley. But the automation industry also uses the approach. ABB developed an augmented operator with the LSTM. The podcast is growing and we want to keep growing. • How do you make data accountable? With an AI model.

    07/12/2022 Duración: 19min

Michael Welsch is a mechanical engineer. His approach makes data accountable. A neural network learns to decompose and reconstruct a company's data lake, which it can only do if it learns to model the inner relationships step by step. The AI software is then capitalized on the company's balance sheet as a proxy for the actual data lake. Welsch presented his idea to some auditors and large accounting firms. They were also puzzled by the approach. The podcast is growing and we want to keep growing. That's why our German-language podcast is now available in English. We are happy about new listeners.
