While we just said goodbye to Josh a mere month ago - he just couldn't help himself when the siren call of politics came a calling.  So this Monday before election day we are presenting the full conversation that we had regarding politics and the election that we had on 10/30/2020.  Join us for this very long special conversation this Monday episode where we talk all things politics and get into the mind of Josh and why he may end up supporting Biden.

Paul and Aaron discuss accountability and what this looks like - both from a theoretical and practical view.  We hit on a few themes but one of the things that stuck out is that accountability is a two way process - and it is impossible to do it any other way.

Join Paul and Aaron this year as they remember various family traditions surrounding Halloween.  Since Covid is still a thing - this year's Halloween is going to be different but it is good for the soul to remember what has happened in the past as well.

This past week has shown a disturbing trend with social media and the amount of control it has over what news is and isn't allowed to be posted/shared - even from reputable news sites. This sets a bad precedent - and these sites need to be held accountable for their actions. It is no longer excusable for social media sites to say they are only hosts and not editors - the actions this week show they are in fact editors.

Early voting is going on in the United States even as we speak, and election day is coming up soon.  We (Aaron and Paul) have seen a lot of discussion online and in person of people saying "Well if you vote for X you can no longer call yourself Christian"  There is also a lot of rhetoric regarding why one candidate has been lying to people to get the Christian vote. So the question is - can you vote for X and still be a Christian or does your politics override your spiritual beliefs.

Welcome to season 2 of Use Your Words.  In this episode Paul and Aaron talk about what they are looking forward to as Use Your Words enters a new era.  We talk about our hopes, and what we want to see change, as well as a few structural changes with the podcast as well.  This is a shorter episode, but it is how we are jumping off to our next journey.

This will be a semi-regular thing for Use Your Words where Aaron and Paul relax, have a drink, and talk about the spiritual journeys they both are on.  In this episode Aaron wanted to share his own story of his journey of faith, and wanted to find out Paul's story of how he came to faith as well. Today we are both sad and happy to announce that our very own Josh is leaving the podcast. We are sad because we do - even though we may tease him - enjoy having him on the show with us. But we are also happy to see him take his first steps in his new career choice as well as start his family. We know (and acknowledge) that this takes a bit of time and with his added responsibilities due to schooling - it is understandable why Josh has decided to step away from the podcast. He steps away with all of us staying friends - and no hard feeling between any of us involved. That being said Josh always has an open invitation to join us whenever he has free time - and he will be back for certain special episodes as well - one of which will be the end of the year episode to review the New Years predictions we each made last year (and of course with Lt if he is available as well). After some deliberation - we have decided that we will NOT be replacing Josh at this time - and do not plan on having a specific third pers

There really is no title for today's episode.  Once a month we try to go down the more spiritual route with our conversations and that was this week's conversation.  Originally we were going to talk about a multitude of things, but in the end we got to only one question: how do each of us do devotions, and what methods do we find as effective methods to do those devotions?

The CDC recently released a report which stated that in June of 2020 25.5% of people aged 18-24 SERIOUSLY considered suicide.  That is an alarming statistic - and shook Paul to his very core.  Since it is suicide awareness month - these two things align (horribly) together - so we talked about it this month. This is part two of a conversation which was started last month regarding culture changing and how we should react to it.  Last month focused mostly on culture in large - while this month focuses more on changing culture within the church - both the good and the bad around it.
