Sinopsis
Difficult conversations can be just that difficult. Sometimes we are timid or dont know the word/phrasing to use to convey the thoughts we have. Sometimes those thoughts break our brains a little bit and we may falter to explain what we are thinking those concepts are in our brains but they havent found their way out yet and we are at a loss of words trying to explain these thoughts floating in our heads to others. We really do ourselves a disservice when we fail to engage in these conversations no matter how difficult or uncomfortable they may be at times. We are three friends who have had these conversations over the years, and while we are serious and dedicated to these conversations we like to have fun during these conversations as well. Join us as we have these conversations - and even if we take positions that you don't agree with - engage with us (respectfully) and use your words.

What do we do about Chimeras? Are there any moral objections to them?
04/05/2021 Duración: 59minRecently scientist have found a way to make hybrid human/monkey embryo live for a total of fourteen days inside of a petri dish. Previously (in 2017) scientist found a way to make a half human, half pig chimera while doing research. These advancements have raised various issues in the research community on if they should now allow embryos to live for a total of 28 days instead of the 14 days on the books in multiple countries, as well if we should continue the research into chimera embryos. While doing these other experiments, researchers have also found a way to raise mice in artificial wombs to the halfway point of gestation - a first in the scientific world. With all of these advancements in artificially growing embryos - what are we to do about that as Christians. What sort of moral dilemmas does this represent? What do we do about half human half animal x embryos? Also if we are raising animal just for organs how is that different then raising animals to eat them? Use Your Words podcast is pa

Are We On The Path For A Population Implosion?
20/04/2021 Duración: 52minThis week we take a look at some recently scientific research which suggests that instead of a population boom - we are on the verge of a population implosion. Now there is a very fascinating series of articles that outline how various factors all combine to decrease the birth rate as well as the fertility of both sexes/genders. Due to various factors (including changes in society) we are quickly seeing a decrease in the replacement fertility around the world, with most studies agreeing that by 2050 69% of the countries will have a replacement fertility below 2.1. In fact - at that time, most studies agree that the worldwide population increase year over year will be down to 0.53% from the barely over 1% of 2020. We look at some of the information presented by the studies, and what this means for us as the human race going forward. Covetous Culture
06/04/2021 Duración: 51minThis week we talk about that uncomfortable conversation around coveting. Now for those not familiar with the word - essentially coveting is yearning for things or situations that other people showcase. Current society, through social media primarily, highlights people's new possessions as well as adventures as something to be desired. People look at what others are posting on their various feeds and talk about how they wish they could have that item/that experience. What makes something coveting, and why is coveting (outside of a biblical worldview) bad? This week Aaron and Paul talk about this. 23/03/2021 Duración: 01h04minWe talk this week about the recent ruling from the Vatican on if priests can bless same sex unions or not. While this ruling from the Vatican seems to have taken a bunch of people by surprise, if you have been following Pope Francis and the catholic church's doctrine - this should not come as a surprise. Aaron - questions why people would care about this - and we try to break it down some more so that Aaron can understand it.
