  • Vikings vs Packers: GMG In The Raw! Dalvin Cook on Fire

    02/11/2020 Duración: 47min

Good morning Horners! A day after the Minnesota Vikings went to Lambeau Field and defeated division rival Green Bay Packers, the win is still so sweet. In a day where weather was an absolute factor, with wind gusts anywhere from 40 to 50 miles an hour, running the ball seem to be key. Dalvin Cook stood out and took the game over. He had 226 all-purpose yards and 4 touchdowns giving the Vikings their first win over a Matt LaFleur coached team.  Mike Zimmer had his hands full, especially in the second half when injuries started to decimate the Viking secondary. Coming into the game they were already short handed, but due to a hit by a teammate on Cameron Dantzler, and Kris Boyd suffering what looked like a knee injury, Zimmer had to manufacture coverage in a way he hadn’t before. At the end of the game, Anthony Harris was playing nickel because there was nobody left. Even Adam Thielen volunteered to play corner if needed. But it was in the second half, and with all those substitutions that Zimmer schemed a way

  • Vikings vs Packers: GMG Pregame Show

    31/10/2020 Duración: 42min

Vikings vs Packers… Good morning Horners! It is Packers week and if there is one more game we win this season, you wanted to be this one, right? Let’s talk your Minnesota Vikings as they travel up to Green Bay to play their division rivals, the Packers in Lambeau Field. Mike Zimmer is currently 0-4 against Matt Lafleur and the question is will he go 0-5 by the end of the Sunday?  The Vikings are coming off their bye week where some of their injured players looked to have gotten a little healthier. Dalvin Cook is questionable for the game, but everything is pointing to him playing. Troy Dye has come off of IR, was activated and may start or get significant playing time. The corners however are pretty banged up. Jeff Gladney will be one of the starters, and at the last minute it looks like Cameron Dantzler has been activated off of Covid IR, but the other one looks to be Mark Fields or Harrison Hand. How will these young players do against Aaron Rodgers and Devante Adams this time around is a big question.  T

  • Vikings vs Falcons - GMG Pregame Show

    17/10/2020 Duración: 58min

Vikings vs Falcons… Good morning Horners! Is this the get right weekend? After the Atlanta Falcons fired their head coach, they come to town with an 0-5 record. The Minnesota Vikings play their first game after that intense Sunday Night Football loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Is this a possible trap game, where the Vikings let down because of week 5? Drew, Ryno, Dave and Ted look forward to this game, and you can join us!  Dalvin Cook and Dru Samia have already been ruled out due to injuries. The Falcons have been decent against the run only allowing an average of about 110 yards per game, whereas the Vikings have averaged over 160 per game. Knowing that, do you think Alexander Madison and Mike Boone will hit that mark? How about the fact that the Falcons are next-to-last in pass coverage, will that drive a more pass happy Kirk Cousins game plan?  How will the Vikings defense do against the Falcons weapons? There is a question whether Julio Jones will play or not, but you still have Hayden Hurst, Calvin Ridl

  • Vikings vs Texans - GMG In The Raw LIVE!

    05/10/2020 Duración: 45min

Good morning Horners! Your Minnesota Vikings went down to play the Houston Texans and pulled out their first victory of the season. Our favorite team showed more improvement in the offense looks to be getting its legs as we had three players with over 100 yards. Dalvin Cook continued with 130 yards on the ground and another 16 via receptions, leading to two touchdowns. Adam Thielen had eight receptions for 114 yards and a touchdown. Justin Jefferson had 103 yards on four beautiful receptions as well. Kirk Cousins continues to play well in October. He was 16 for 22 and had 127.1 rating. This is good to see considering the Vikings defense still struggles with the youngsters and the backups getting so much playing time due to injuries.  Speaking of that defense, we saw Harrison Smith ejected after a hit where it look like he lead with his head. The rule doesn’t have “intent” in it, and the combination of the receiver ducking his head down, even though Hitman wanted to lead with his shoulder, it was clear that h

  • Vikings vs Texans - GMG Pregame Show

    03/10/2020 Duración: 47min

Good morning Horners! Vikings vs Texans down in Houston on Sunday is still on track to happen. After increased Covid testing due to positive tests coming from the Titans last week, the Purple has had to alter their schedule to prepare for the battle of 0-3 teams. After some improvement last week and break out game from Justin Jefferson, the Vikes look to see if they can continue that. The Texans seem to be relatively evenly matched and have much the same faults, but they do have a mobile quarterback in Deshaun Watson. Can the defensive line keep him contained, can they get some sacks, how about the DBs on a fourth set of corner combinations in 4 weeks? All of this we’ll have to wait and see.  Kirk Cousins should be looking to make up for that disastrous last drive from last week, but can the offensive line hold back the likes of JJ Watt? The one super bright spot for targeting is that the Texans give up more yards against the run than any team in football. This should bode well for Dalvin Cook after be boome

  • Vikings vs Titans - GMG In The Raw LIVE!

    28/09/2020 Duración: 36min

Good morning Horners! It the day after your Minnesota Vikings took on the Tennessee Titans at US Bank. What did we see? We saw a close game where the Vikings had the lead for a good portion of the game. Then at the end, we saw “chaos” as HC Mike Zimmer said after the game. Did we see improvement? Dalvin Cook set a record for total rushing yards with 181. Justin Jefferson had an absolute breakout game with a 175 yards on 7 receptions and his first TD. What a catch by Kyle Rudolph too! It was a thing of beauty. After a slow start, the offense looked good, up until that last drive to win it. Kirk Cousins was hitting his extremes from dimes to Jefferson and Adam Thielen to not “looking at the rush.” Huh?   The defense even showed life with a pick by Harrison Smith and stopping the Titans short of the end zone time after time. Better play came from Yannick Ngakoue and Ifeadi Odenigbo. Ngakoue even had another forced fumble. On a squad decimated by injuries and having backups playing in many spots, it was an encou

  • GMG Morning Quickie - Is Kirk Cousins Bad?

    24/09/2020 Duración: 05min

Good morning Horners! Starting a new feature we’re calling the GMG Morning Quickie because who doesn’t love a morning quickie? LOL. This one focuses on short discussions on your Minnesota Vikings and relevant topics. Today’s topic covers the questions of “Is Kirk Cousins bad?” Drew, Flip and Dave dive into the topic after his worst game ever. What do you say? Is he?  What if Gary Kubiak says, “I don’t have the QB to run this offense” and then features more of Dalvin Cook because of it? Is that an excuse? Is there a disconnect between Cousins and Kubiak? Drew is looking for a set of “onions.” He’d love to see that play maker’s switch where the leader of the team steps up like Russell Wilson or Patrick Mahomes when things aren’t going as planned. Is this turning into a Les Steckle type season?   If Kirk Cousins is indeed bad, it looks like Vikings fans are in for a a long season. Where do you see the first win?
