The amazing grace of God is not just part of an old hymn that we sing. The amazing grace of God is the reason that we live the way we do. As a Christian, you are called to be different; by God's grace, you can live up to that calling.

The question is not whether slavery is right or not, slavery is wrong because of how it demeans an image bearer of God. The question is: how should a believer act differently in any situation they find themselves in; even slavery.

As believers, we are to pursue godliness in our daily lives. As Paul writes to Titus he urges him to teach what accords with sound doctrine and to encourage other believers to do the same, specifically older women in the church as they teach and train the younger women in the church.

Titus was sent to Crete to put in order what remained; with that difficult ministry, he was also given a ministry of confrontation. As believers and leaders, we have been given that same ministry.

According to Titus 1:8-9 there are certain qualifications that godly leaders should have. These qualifications serve as a checklist of sorts for those in the leadership roles of overseer, elder, or pastor.

Our hope, our focus, our desire should be the Risen Christ, Jesus our Lord.

We are not saved only to sit by and hope that others come to know the Christ we call Savior, we are saved to serve.

Change is not always a good thing or even a needed thing, but in the case of our lives before Christ and our lives with Christ, change is something that we can be thankful for. With Christ, we walk by the Spirit.
