Who Are We?

It’s been a season of elections! With people using the ballot paper to express themselves. The difference between the world we live in and God’s kingdom is that, unlike the world, Christians don’t choose God, He chose us, even before the foundation of the earth. In the same way as each couple invests time and effort towards a wedding day, Jesus Christ, the bridegroom has been investing heavily in his bride, the church. In 1 Timothy 3:15, we read of how the church is the household of God and how we are members of God’s family. As Christians, we are adopted into God’s family with God as our Father and we as His children. In Ephesians chapter two, Paul describes the church as a new people, a brand new creation. Something so unique and so incredible that there is nothing else like it on earth. When we come to Christ, and come into the Christian church, we quite literally become something new, a new tribe, a completely new humanity.
