The IWA's Cardiff Media Summit on December 3rd 2014 held a discussion on the way that current commissioning models work across the broadcasting industry and the way they serve UK audiences in general and Welsh audiences in particular. What works well at present and where does Wales succeed? What are the issues that need to be addressed and what are the barriers in the way? Are we doing as much as we could to portray Wales and are we maximising the economic benefit? The audience discussion from the IWA's debate on whether enough is being done to attract inward investment to Wales, or whether the focus on regaining past glories distracting from confronting the fact that the model is broken? The debate held on October 23rd 2014 was to test the arguments. For decades Plaid Cymru have stood accused of sympathising with Fascism during the 1930s. The publication of Richard Wyn Jones’s book on ‘Welsh Nationalism and the Accusation of Fascism’ in English earlier this year challenged the charges against Plaid.
