This past week the Anaheim Ducks made four acquisitions. They signed free agents Mason Raymond, Jared Boll, and Jeff Schultz. The Ducks also made a trade acquiring goalie Jonathan Bernier from Toronto for a 2017 conditional draft pick.We discuss each transaction separately and their impact on Anaheim's roster. We look at potential moves the Ducks can still make through free agency and/or via trade. Lastly, we discuss how the available cap space and expansion draft are playing a role in the decision making process of Bob Murray.Our special guest this week is Max Jones, Anaheim's first round draft pick taken 24th overall this year. The NHL free agent frenzy came and went this past Friday. Every team in the league was active that day except for the Anaheim Ducks. Several big contracts were signed by players like Milan Lucic, Andrew Ladd, Kyle Okposo, and Loui Eriksson. Forwards David Perron, Jamie McGinn, and Chris Stewart all left Anaheim and signed with other teams.We highlight some of the transactions from Friday and look at why the Ducks were so quiet. We discuss the potential moves Anaheim can make through free agency and/or via trade to replenish the forward depth currently lacking on the Ducks roster. The Anaheim Ducks completed the NHL draft making six selections. In day one of the draft, the Ducks selected left-wing Max Jones(24th overall) and center Sam Steel in the first round (30th overall). Day two of the draft, Anaheim selected defenseman Josh Mahura in the 3rd round(85th overall), left-wing Jack Kopacka in the 4th round(93rd overall), center Alex Dostie 4th round(115th overall), and Tyler Soy in the 7th round.We discuss the Ducks draft selections and highlight some key moments from the NHL draft. The Anaheim Ducks season came to an abrupt end after being eliminated by the Nashville Predators. Two days after the Ducks lost Game 7, GM Bob Murray relieved Bruce Boudreau as head coach of the Ducks. Murray held a press conference and is going to take time to find a new coach. This weekend he is going to focus on the players as they do their exit interviews.We discuss our thoughts on Boudreau being let go and who should be the next coach for Anaheim. The past couple of days has been difficult for Anaheim with all the injuries that have been reported by the team. Here is a list of the current injuries: Kevin Bieksa(Upper Body), Simon Despres(Concussion), David Perron(Shoulder), Rickard Rakell(Appendicitis), Brandon Pirri(Upper Body), and Frederik Andersen(Concussion).On this show we discuss how the Ducks will push through the final week of play. The Anaheim Ducks went on a five game road trip through Canada and what a trip it has been so far. The Ducks are 2-1-1 in the first four games. They beat Winnipeg, then lost to Montreal and Toronto before winning in a wild comeback against Ottawa yesterday. This week the Ducks roster saw changes each game as the injuries started to mount. Anaheim lost David Perron to a shoulder injury in the game against Winnipeg. Simon Despres was then injured in the game against Montreal and was sent back to California to be evaluated. Kevin Bieksa was the next victim to receive an injury in the game against Toronto.The Ducks also lost Ryan Kesler this week as he had to return home to handle a personal matter before the Toronto game. The Ducks did see Sami Vatanen and Chris Stewart rejoin the team this week. Stewart finally was able to play in the game against Ottawa. During the third period of the Anaheim Ducks game against the Los Angeles Kings on January 17, Bruce Boudreau split Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. The two remained separate for the next two months until last the game against Boston Bruins. Boudreau put the two together again on one line with Jamie McGinn. It paid off as the line combined for four points on the night and the Ducks won 4-0.Today the Ducks had a brief practice at Anaheim Ice and the same line of McGinn, Getzlaf, and Perry was together. Eddy and Mike discuss whether the Ducks should keep Getzlaf and Perry together or not.John Gibson was on ice today at practice and appeared to look good. According to Boudreau, he will likely start against the Winnipeg Jets in the next game. Eddy and Mike discuss the current goalie rotation between Gibson and Frederik Andersen.
