Episode #15- We are back! Race results, Buffalo Run and Strength Training
23/02/2016 Duración: 54minDid you miss us? We sure missed you. After an amazing trip to DC we are back and firing on all cylinders. We thought we would start by catching up on a few race results from Moab and Black Canyon. A couple early season races in amazing places. Congrats to those who punched tickets to the "big dance"- Western States 100 and all those who got out. We had to take a few minutes to give a huge thanks and shout out to Mr. Jim Skaggs from Buffalo Run Adventures for all his support and help through the years. The Buffalo Run is fast approaching and registration closes on February 29th. Don't put it off any longer- register! The island is a magical place to run and the finish line party is crazy fun- plus you can get some amazing Buffalo Stew. We close it out with some tips from our very own Joel Hatch on strength training. He throws out some great advice and helps answer a few questions to get started. Thanks again for listening and don't forget to visit the site soon for some great TrailManners gear! Show Not

Episode #11- Luke Nelson: "You can do more than you think you can."
19/01/2016 Duración: 58minPODCAST note: There is a SMUT race contest with this episode. That's right- a free entry into the distance of your choice for Scout Mountain Ultra but that's not all- you will also receive a Patagonia hat AND shirt from the race. Make sure to listen to find out all the details.. With the Outdoor Retailers Show showing up in SLC, UT we knew we had to score a few high quality shows. The opportunity to throw a mic at Luke Nelson was a no brainer. Not only is he one of those people that you want to be around but he makes you feel warm and fuzzy. Luke grew up in the mountains but it wasn't until a dare to run a marathon got him fired up about running and the rest is history. Luke was dared to sign up a week before a local marathon (with no training) and he obliged. He had about a week to get ready so he started training. A few days after he registered he got in a 3 mile training run but that left his legs a bit tired and sore. In true runner fashion he decided to taper after those 3 miles and let the legs rest. A

Episode #10- Turd'l Miller: "Man, I feel like a woman."
12/01/2016 Duración: 44minIf you have ever been to a Ultra Adventure race, you most likely came across Turdl Miller. He is an all around good guy and let's face it- he is pretty darn funny too. Turdl took some time from Outdoor Retailers in SLC, UT to invite us into his 1989 VW Bus for a very memorable show. We discussed his role at Ultra Adventures as well as his 2016 race schedule. TrailManners found out Turdl has put in for the 2016 Wasatch 100 and we hope the lottery gods #LetTurdlRun! Episode #9- Jim Skaggs: Race Directing and Enabling
05/01/2016 Duración: 44minIt's a New Year and here at TrailManners we are off and running. And we thought we would kick it off with a local legend, awesome RD and all around great guy- Jim Skaggs.Jim has been a solid presence in the Wasatch Mountains since they formed. He has done so much for the trail and ultra running community in Utah and we wanted to know more about him. He started the Buffalo Run with a little over 100 runners and now as he exceeds 800 he still hasn't lost that small race, home town feel. With his home brew and amazing wife Karen (the best stew cook this side of the Mississippi) they make sure all the runners have a great time before and after the race. You would be hard pressed to find a chink in his armor other than the fact he doesn't like IPA's. Jim not only puts on incredible races but he gets out and performs at the best of them too. He is a Grand Slammer and throws in the occasional 5k for fun. He is well versed in the art of racing- from timed runs on a flat track to going sub 30 at Wasatch. We were excit

Episode #7- Brian Beckstead: Altra Footwear, Ultra Fishing and Yes- Running
22/12/2015 Duración: 52minWe got lucky and caught up with Brian after locking him down between trips, running, being a family man and ultra fishing. He was kind enough to let us peek behind the curtain at Altra Footwear in Logan, Utah to see what they are up to. With a new "Smart shoe" ready to launch and a new apparel line with "the jacket every ultra runner should own" (which comes out 2/1)- we definitely felt lucky he penciled us in. He told us the story of how Zero Drop came to life and the exact moment he knew it was going to be huge.We then got him out of his work mode and made him spill the beans on his running crusades and hobbies. We want to thank Brian and Altra for spending some time with us and we truly hope you enjoy the show. Head on over to www.altrarunning.com and check out all they haver to offer. Episode #5- Ty Draney: Fat biking, Barkley and "Type 3 Fun"
08/12/2015 Duración: 34minJust like a race- when you don't get the result you want, you come back for more. That is what happened when we sat down with Ty a few months back and did a show with him. It did not come out how we wanted so we had our people get in touch with his people and we were lucky enough to book him again. I say we were lucky because Ty does it all- coaching, race directing, running, coaching, racing, traveling, teaching, did I say coaching? and of course a great family man. You will be hard pressed to find a better person than Ty- he is one of the true good people out there and we were excited to hear what he is looking at for 2016. Episode #4- Jennilyn Eaton: Suffering is humorous.
01/12/2015 Duración: 36minWith Studio 78 under the weather, we headed down to Salt Lake City to meet up with Jennilyn Eaton at Beans & Brews for some java and conversation. Luckily for us she had a small window in yet another busy day of being a mom, working at Park City Running Company training at Momentum and coming back from an injury. Early on we knew this was going to be a great show as she informed us of some major plans for 2016. The plan starts with trying to get into the Barkley Marathon and then follow that up with the "Wasatch Monopoly". Jennilyn will also throw her name into the Wasatch 100 lottery after receiving "the white dress"- on a dare. Needless to say Jennilyn will have her hands full and we here at TrailManners wish her the best of luck but after sitting down with her we are not sure she needs it! Episode #3- Tara Warren: That old quesadilla hangover
24/11/2015 Duración: 25minWe caught up with Tara Warren at the 22nd street trailhead just a few days after completing her first 100 mile trail race- the Bear 100. Not only were her emotions still a little raw but so were her feet. We enjoyed listening to how she manages to train for a difficult 100 mile race while she raises her 3 boys with her ultra runner husband Bryce. Bear 100 may have been tough but pulling this show off with a guy on his lunch break bouncing some sweet tunes and devouring Taco Bell was no easy task. Episode #1- Scott Jaime: Keep it simple man.
24/11/2015 Duración: 28minIt was an absolute pleasure to have Scott Jaime in Studio 78 as our first guest on the TrailManners podcast. We would like to think he drove from Colorado just for the show but in fact it was a Fantasy Football draft...go figure. He may not have shared his "sleeper" pick for the season but he shared plenty of great insight and stories from the trail. With Studio 78 parked at the Wasatch 100 start, it was bound to bring up fond memories from his early training and his first 100 mile race. We hope you enjoy the show.
