  Mark and Ashford of Feathers and Foes really had a hard time wrapping their head around Birds of Prey 53 by writer Gilbert Hernandez and artist Casey Jones.  The Birds, Dinah and Barbara, go on Holiday, escaping their problems and enjoying some WELL DESERVED rest and relaxation.  This gives Hernandez a chance to stretch his muscle by writing a down to earth story where we, the readers, get a chance to see Dinah and Barbara interact face to face.  We also see how men are attracted to these two crime fighters, which at times becomes tired rather quickly.  Dinah is trying to understand her feelings with her Green Arrow situation and Barbara Gordon is trying to figure out things with Nightwing.  While all of this is happening, hash tag nice guy Tom comes into the picture.  Cue the emo music, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Ashford, Mark, and Laurel discuss issue 52 of Birds of Prey.  Black Canary is trying to assist Java in saving Sapphire and son, while the Oracle is battling a front at home, and it is uncomfortable as all get out.  The Birds of Prey have faced stronger threats, but with Black Canary having to be kind of on the side in her story, and Babes seemingly not being in control, this issue lends itself to being quite interesting.    

Writer Gilbert Hernandez and Artist Casey Jones are back for their second story, Let's Get Elemental.  The mystery is still unraveling in Black Canary's plot line.  For Oracle, things are getting quite harry as this guy who claims to be the Killer Moth has broken into the Clock Tower and has manage to tie Barbara up.   Listen to Laura, Mark, and Ashford discuss this issue.   feathersandfoes@gmail.com #HuntressisComing

Gilbert Hernandez and Casey Jones take control of the Birds of Prey franchise.  According to Ashford, he feels like this issue was proper Birds of Prey.  Great issue with Black Canary/Oracle banter.  We get Black Canary on the motorcycle and doing martial arts.  We get some great action scenes and great character moments.   Let us know what you think at feathersandfoes@gmail.com

The finale, Batgirl and the Birds of Prey 22, hit the shelves on May 11, 2018.  Based on the moves at DC comics, Feathers and Foes weren't surprised about this movie at all. Sad to hear that the Benson's run is done, but we are excited about following them to Green Arrow.  Will Helena Bertinelli ever find a home?

The finale to the 3 story arc Chaotic Code has come to a close.  Will Barbara Gordon and the Black Canary be able to stop Dr. Blackaver from using his meta-human daughter as a means to create and mass produce weapons of mass destruction?  Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti along with Hi-Fi on the colors really brought their A-Game to issue 49.  Share your thoughts with us at feathersandfoes@gmail.com    

Terry Moore and Amanda Conner are back with their second story in the Chaotic Code story arc.  Barbara is enjoying her new ability to not only walk, but kick butt as well with the help of the meta human power of Madison, a mystery teenager who is manipulated in helping a mad scientist.  And on the other side of the plot mountain is Black Canary, who has been thrown in an unmarked van with men with guns and knives.  

Issue 47 has the same heroes penned and drawn by a different art team.  Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, known for their work with Power Girl and Harley Quinn, and Terry Moore who many know from Strangers in Paradise.  Barbara Gordon uses her Oracle skills to get into an elite seminar where a genetic scientist feels as if he has unlocked the mystery of creation and entropy itself.  And Black Canary is back in the fishnets, kicking butt without taking names, but you better believe she is keeping score.   

Feathers and Foes is back, discussing Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #21 by Julie Benson and Shawna Benson.  Guest Stars like Green Arrow and some other heavy hitters that will be discussed in the show.  Go read the book and listen to Mark and Ashford as they discuss the penultimate issue of this epic book!

Chuck Dixon's final story has explosions, guns, double-double crosses, which sometimes negates the original double cross.  Only a panel or two with Oracle, and Black Canary only playing a supporting character, for the action, plot, and other characters over shadow our main protagonist, yet despite it all, this really serves as a great good bye for Chuck Dixon.  

Yes, Marvel Studios released Black Panther, and it was glorious.  Here at the Wright On Network, we have been working on giving you a response to the film, but we didn't want to rush anything out.  We wanted to compile some conversations from people with different vantage points, which we believe is important, for we all have our different schema, philosophies, and experiences.   Ryan Daly of the Power of Fishnets podcast over at the www.fireandwaterpodcast.com, Mark of the Feathers and Foes podcast, Delvin, Dr. Shelby-King, and Jada all joined Ashford in a discussion about this unique triumph, Black Panther.
