We're back after a very long time away to discuss some various odds and ends, including one of our favorite releases of the year: Dragon Quest VII for the 3DS. We're also giving our takes on the reveal of Nintendo's newest console, Switch, and the announcement of the long awaited sequel to Red Dead Redemption. Oh, and we have a button bar now!

Two decades ago, Pokemon was introduced, and endlessly marketed, to the world. The original Game Boy games are finally being re-released via Nintendo's Virtual Console, but there is so much more to the history of Pokemon than its inaugural gaming entries. We sit down and discuss what it was like to live in the era of Pokémania, which included Tim's legitimate title of Pokemon gym leader and Andy smashing a Game Boy.

We've ignored the Mattel Inellivision for far too long, and now we're finally giving the system its due by dedicating an entire episode to its legacy and a few of the great games it provided us. While it may not have been the Atari killer Mattel had hoped for, the system was a success and still maintains a loyal following in 2016. Andy also takes a brief detour into the Atari realm to review one of the VCS' most unique homebrew titles. You would think that in 1993, a Super Mario Bros. movie would have been a blockbuster smash hit. Mario fever was at its very peak following the release of Super Mario World for the SNES, and kids all over the planet clamored for all the Mario media they could handle. There's no way it couldn't succeed, right? We take a look back at the movie that somehow managed to screw up the big screen adaption of Nintendo's flagship franchise in every imaginable way.

We all remember the Nintendo Entertainment System fondly, but what about its Japanese sibling? We look back and lay out just how the Famicom came into existence and how it differed from the boxy gray 8-bit machine we loved so much in our childhood. We've also picked out console's best titles that were exclusive to Japan, but are definitely worth checking out for stateside Nintendo fans. In this bonus episode, we're dissecting the history of Donkey Kong outside of the arcade. When the world thirsted for more DK after leaving the friendly confines of their neighborhood arcades, these console and computer recreations of the smash hit game aimed to sufficiently feed those desires. Some succeeded, while others did not. We're also facing off against one another by comparing our pathetically low scores in order to determine the ultimate Super Podcast Bros. DK champ!

We get a little weird in our first full episode back from our holiday hiatus. The history of sex in mainstream gaming is an interesting one to say the least, and we discuss it all; from the earliest text-based games to the glorious, high resolution nudity we enjoy today. We traveled to the great state of Illinois for a visit to the famous Underground Retrocade and the 31st annual Pinball Expo! The once young and youthful Sony PlayStation turns twenty and we're looking back and handpicking the system's ten best offerings!
