Kicking things off, Alex joins retired Nintendo World Report staffer Tyler Ohlew to discuss Inazuma Eleven, the Level-5-developed soccer RPG that just hit the eShop in North America and Europe a few weeks ago. Oh, and for everyone else in the world, you get to cringe every time they say "soccer" instead of "football." Hooray! In the second half of the show, Daan hosts another game show, this time all about the months of January and February. Scott returns to compete against NWR-newcomer Addison Webb as the duo answers questions about recent news stories, music from platformers, and Mario history. Next week we are doing another listener mail segment, so be sure to send us your questions! You can send it to Connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com. We will see you next week!

There is also a little Vita discussion and a super serious deconstruction of slavery. After that, the boys answer some listener mail. Topics include Nintendo licensing out its properties, the Smash Bros. hype train, competitive gaming, and championing the black sheep of different video game series. Closing out the show, Daan and Andy discuss Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, a game they both recently reviewed for Nintendo World Report. The boys talk generalities for the majority of the segment before veering into light spoilers at the end (but don't worry, they give a fair warning when they do!) Keep sending us that listener mail! You can send it to Connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com. Let us know what you think about Donkey Kong

    08/02/2014 Duración: 01h20min

And so another Saturday is upon us, and it is time for yet another episode of your favorite video game podcast named "Connectivity", it's Connectivity! Being that this is the last episode to air before Valentine's Day, we felt it would be appropriate to discuss all the things we truly love about Nintendo. There won't be any negativity here folks, so prepare for some gushing from Scott, Daan, and host Alex. Continuing on with our theme of love, it's the seemingly final installment of a segment that I know at least I love to pieces. It's Name That… Pokémon with your host Josh and contestants Kim and Becky. I hope you sure like awkwardness and pineapple juice, because this segment has plenty of both! We didn't get any listener mail last week, you guys! And you had been so damn good about it up until then. Let's fix this. Send us listener mail to connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com, and when you're done go ahead and rate and review the show on iTunes. Love, Mike

What did you think about the reveals, and do they make you any more or less confident in the Wii U? After that, the guys read a ton of great listener mail. Where have all the Kremlings gone? How does Nintendo World Report handle review copies of games? How does someone join the great staff here? What's the future of 3D for Nintendo? These and plenty more questions are answered! Hello and welcome to Connectivity! This week, we have two segments for you. Opening the show, Alex, Mike, and Zach answer some listener mail. Specifically, what does the future hold for Iwata if he is fired as president of Nintendo? After that, the boys discuss what they've been playing lately, including Pushmo, Epic Mickey 2, SteamWorld Dig, EarthBound, and NES Remix. After that, Daan joins Scott to preview the first half of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Don't worry, there aren't any real spoilers here. Instead, Daan breaks down the differences between Returns and Tropical Freeze, illustrates how each of the Kongs is used in levels, and applauds the excellent music. We like answering listener mail, so why not send us some more? You can send it to Connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com! Thanks for listening, and we'll see you next week!

  • Episode 117: That's Your Gateway Drug

    18/01/2014 Duración: 01h26min

Back again, like the prodigal son that it is, it's a brand new episode of Connectivity! I bet you didn't expect that, did you? Oh, you did? Well here's a gold star for you. Good job. Anyway, we've got two segments on this week's show. Daan has been working on this original gameshow idea, our first segment, for a few weeks now. I'm sure you'll agree that it was well worth the wait you didn't know you were going through. After that, Zach and Scott sit down to discuss the games that truly defined the Wii, and not just the good ones. We'd really like some listener mail. First up, we gaze into the future and preview all of the major games announced for the year so far. Will there be good ones? What about bad ones? Is Bayonetta 2 ever going to be released? Find out all these things and more! After that, everybody's favorite segment returns. Josh stumbles back into that abandoned studio to once again find Kim and Becky. The three of them do their thing and play yet another round of Name That Pokémon. Just remember, Josh is always right. Do you have a favorite Pokémon? And you should rate and review the show on iTunes too!

  • Episode 115: The Church of Connectivity

    04/01/2014 Duración: 01h47min

What better way to kick off the start of 2014 than with a look back at 2013? On our first segment this week, Scott, Neal, Alex, and Zach discuss their favorite games of the year. Each host has picked his three favorite games to appear on a Nintendo platform and one non-tendo game and, surprisingly, there isn't very much overlap. Super Mario 3D World, a Link Between Worlds, Pikmin 3, Luigi's Mansion; who picks them and where do they place? You'll just have to listen to find out! Be sure to comment and tell us your favorite games of the year, too. After the outro, Scott, Nicholas, and Amanda return for another Doctor Who bonus segment, centered this time around the Christmas special and Matt Smith's final episode. From plot holes to the future of Doctor Who, the gang leaves no stone unturned. As always, you can send your listener mail to Connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com. What has you excited about Nintendo in 2014? Let us know!

    21/12/2013 Duración: 01h58min

Hello and welcome to the penultimate episode of 2013! We've got two segments and one bonus segment this week. Kicking the show off, Alex joins Danny and Josh to discuss--no, not Pokémon--the future of the Wii U in light of last week's dismal sales numbers. The guys break down what's gone wrong and how they think things could be improved. Maybe just throw Pokémon at it? Speaking of Pokémon, in the next segment, the wacky game show "Name That Pokémon" returns! The increasingly insane Josh guides Kim and Becky through another round, bending the rules as he goes and threatening bodily harm throughout. A great segment for the family! After the outro, Scott, J.P. and Donald get together for a long overdue NHL segment. The group goes over the season so far before reviewing the first episode of HBO's 24/7: Road to the Winter Classic. Spoiler: it was kind of bad. Sad face. As always, you can send your listener mail to Connectivity@nintendoworldreport.com. Be sure to join us next week for the very last episode of 2

    07/12/2013 Duración: 01h44min

I hope you aren't still asleep from Thanksgiving, because over here at Connectivity we are finally awake and back in action. First up on this week's episode, Scott, Daan, and Zach break down their favorite games from the first year of the Wii U's life. You may be surprised at their choices. You may not be. I really don't know much about you so it's hard to guess. Then, Josh stumbles back into the studio for a second round of Name That Pokémon with Becky and Kim. Who will win? Who will lose? Will Josh explode from drinking too much Red Bull Zero? You'll have to listen to find out. Pro Tip: DO NOT QUESTION JOSH. Finally, Connectivity's Whovian contingent reassembles to discuss the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special. I swear we love listener mail, but we never answer it because you never send it in! Change that up, and send your questions and comments to us at connctivity@nintendoworldreport.com. Also, please rate and review the show on iTunes.

From the surprising announcement of Miiverse and Nintendo Network ID support on the 3DS to the groan-inducing Super Mario 3D World spoilers, the group covers it all. Plus, it turns out two of the four have never played Super Mario Galaxy 2, and at that realization, they were summarily executed. To avoid execution, those guys could have used a great lawyer, which brings us to our next segment. James and Alex return for the second half of their Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies discussion. The boys don't hold back this time though, and the segment explores the game with full spoilers. So, if you haven't finished yet, you may want to beware.
