Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors Runtime: 1 hour 56 minutes Synopsis: Adonis has been thriving in both his career and family life, but when a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy resurfaces, the face-off is more than just a fight. Kriss, Ro and Brandon have differing opinions on the latest Creed film. It seems to come down to expectations. If you have lowered expectations because this is Michael B. Jordan's first time directing and he's also directing himself, this might be serviceable. If you were expecting a film that was in line with the previous Creed films, you might be disappointed. Jonathan Majors is absolutely fantastic but the script seems to do a lot of skipping over parts and "tell not show" that the previous films didn't do. Director: Peyton Reed Writers: Jeff Loveness Starring: Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Jonathan Majors, Kathryn Newton, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Douglas Runtime: 2 hour 5 minutes Synopsis: Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne, along with Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, explore the Quantum Realm, where they interact with strange creatures and embark on an adventure that goes beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania falls right in line with the other Ant-Man films with the one big distinction that it is Jonathan Major's MCU feature film debut as Kang and that alone is worth the price of a ticket (or several tickets). It seems that some folks have become confused with Marvel's approach to its films post-Infinity Saga. Basically they're not holding our hands and are going full comic book and that can be good or bad depending on what your expectations are. Knight Shyamalan, Steve Desmond, Michael Sherman Starring: Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Rupert Grint, Kristen Cui Runtime: 1 hour 40 minutes Synopsis: While vacationing, a girl and her parents are taken hostage by armed strangers who demand that the family make a choice to avert the apocalypse. Knock at the Cabin might be one of the best looking M. Knight Shyamalan movies from a cinematic points. It has all of the things that should make this a great film. The cast works really well with what they're given. The problem is, this movie doesn't have the M. Knight Shyamalan twist and flair that is really needed for this film. It's a shocking disappointment. This isn't a bad film at all. But it's feels like something that was perfectly made for an adaptation by M. Knight but is missing something. If you're planning on watching Whitney Houston: I Want to Dance with Somebody because you want to celebrate the woman behind the icon, this isn't what you've been waiting for. Script writer Anthony McCarten (The Two Popes,  Bohemian Rhapsody) designed a narrative built on innuendo, interviews, videos, and b-reel footage to such a degree that its central character, Whitney Huston, is never more than a plot device in a highlight reel of her career. And director Kasi Lemmons (Self-Made: Inspired by the life of Madame C. J. Walker), who should know better than to be satisfied with caricatures of Black people, did little to steer the story much deeper than offering a parody of a life lived. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri and the army of the Na'vi race to protect their home. James Cameron returns after 13 years to give us a sequel to 2009's Avatar. Avatar: The Way of Water is a visually stunning film as one would expect. What is unexpected (or maybe expected depending on who you talk to) is how bland and regressive the story and plot is. While no one would claim the first Avatar film was some marvel of story-telling. It's clear that Cameron "borrowed" from several different sources for that first film but it still was edited together in a coherent and enjoyable story. Turns out making a movie 30 years after the original can work. Which is a shocker because usually they don't. Director: Mark Mylod Screenwriter: Seth Reiss, Will Tracy Starring: Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, Hong Chau, Janet McTeer, John Leguizamo Runtime: 2 hour 14 minutes Synopsis: A young couple travels to a remote island to eat at an exclusive restaurant where the chef has prepared a lavish menu, with some shocking surprises. Kriss and Ro review The Menu. This horror/thriller/comedy is a fantastic watch. There is a lot of social commentary in this film but it's not done in a heavy handed way. It's very smart and timely. Director: Ryan Coogler Writers: Ryan Coogler, Joe Robert Cole Starring: Letitia Wright, Tenoch Huerta, Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, Michaela Coel, Dominique Thorne Synopsis: The people of Wakanda fight to protect their home from intervening world powers as they mourn the death of King T'Challa. Ryan Coogler puts together an emotional film for not only the cast but the fans. The story weaves in the real-life tragedy of losing Chadwick Boseman so suddenly and serves as a great bookend for Phase 4 of the MCU. Phase 4 was clearly about grief and Wakanda Forever handles that extremely well. In addition to that, the film also introduces Namor to the MCU. Tenoch Huerta plays the character extremely well and is a great addition to the MCU. This film also serves as a great sequel to the first film in terms of themes and fallout from some of the things that happened in that movie. It's very clear that there is setup for much larger conflicts in Phase 5 but the film also d

The bar was extremely low for this film and despite all it's problems, it clears that bar. So there's that. This film can be explained by looking at its strengths being The Rock and its weaknesses are Dwayne Johnson. Here's what that means. For Black Adam to be any type of success it needed to be loud, violent and talk a big game. That's WWE The Rock. Synopsis: The true story of Mamie Till-Mobley's relentless pursuit of justice for her 14-year-old son, Emmett Till, who was brutally lynched in 1955 while visiting his cousins in Mississippi.  Writer: Michael Reilly, Keith Beauchamp, Chinonye Chukwu Director Chinonye Chukwu changing the lens through which we revisit tragic events in Black history. Till focuses not on the murder of Emmet Till (Jalyn Hall) but who he was, the circumstances that led to his death, and his mother's refusal to permit what happened to be swept into the shadows. Chukwu's crafted a story grounded in honesty but not rooted in exploiting the gruesomeness of this crime.  I said I was done watching pre-Jim Crowe narratives but Till is heart-wrenching, informative and Danielle Deadwyler as Mamie Till-Mobley gives a powerful performance that shouldn't be missed. It's a tribute to her strength, her pain, and critical contribution to the Civil Rights Movement. The oft ignored narrative of mothers is richly honored.  Till is now playing in sel
