There was big news in Formula 1 this week when Sergio Perez announced that he would not be returning to Racing Point/Aston Martin next year. Perez, who previously said it would be obvious who would replace him if he left the team, currently has no drive for next year, but has been linked to Haas and Alfa Romeo. Perez's announcement paved the way for Aston Martin to sign four-time F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel. Vettel's time at Ferrari has slowly soured since 2018, and is currently finds himself driving an uncompetitive car that is closer to Williams in terms of pace than their recent rivals, Mercedes-Benz. After another Mercedes dominated qualifying, it looked as though the Silver Arrows were going to win the Italian Grand Prix with ease. A couple of safety cars and a red flag changed what looked like another routine victory for Mercedes and produced an exiting and memorable finish.
