Brooks kicks off our centennial celebration by talking about whose hot in Hollywood and whose not.  It started out innocently enough, discussing the questionable attractiveness of Roxxxy the talking sex robot, then it just got out of hand.  Greg, Lynn and Andrew are here too, and even Christopher from the Tupacast.  We manage to segue into discussing Legion, Pandorum and Avatar, so we do manage to get it on the rails eventually.  And this is just part 1 of our centennial celebration.

Sean and Johnny return to talk about what makes a great villain. Who was the greater villain, Frankenstein or his monster? Is Dexter Morgan a hero or a villain? Why can't we seem to create a Darth Vader or a Freddy Krueger for movies today? Why hasn't Star Trek had a great villain since Khan? Have we just lost the ability to create great heroes and villains?

Sean and Johnny talk about the state of heroes and villains in movies today, weighing the positive message of Avatar against the disturbing trends in modern thinking that are embracing remakes of Last House on the Left and I Spit on Your Grave. Indiana Jones and John McClane are helping regular guys discover their inner Batman while bad guys like Freddy and Jason give us a taste of pure evil. So what happens when the line gets blurred? Have we lost our knack for myth building? Will the characters of Avatar endure as long as Sherlock Holmes? Or have we lost the ability to create something new that will stand the test of time? This blurb makes us sound a lot more profound than we really. We're pretty much just talking about movies.

Brooks, Sean and Andrew return to discuss cloud computing and the future of humanity:  Is Google offering us a renaissance of learning that will usher in the digital democracy or are they building SkyNet?  Or both? It's your future, world.  You decide...

Sean and Brooks talk distributed computing with Andrew.  Will the Cloud democratize the internet or will it be the real-life SkyNet?  There is also a little follow-up discussion of District 9 and Idiocracy.

Sean & Greg put the nativity in negativity by tackling crazy Christmas shoppers, The new V series and the Prisoner remake, The Men Who Stare at Goats and its depiction of the First Earth Battalion, and the attitude of movies like Back to the Future and Clash of the Titans towards sexual assault. Sean and Greg set out to talk Frankenstein with Lynn, but end up talking about the sexy starlets of scifi and TV shows like V, Big Love, Smallville, FlashForward, the Vampire Diaries, Fringe and for some reason, MacGyver.  Somewhere in the mix Paranormal Activity and the Amityville Horror remake enter into the conversation.

The boys return with Mudoogul Mudslinger to explore more tips on surviving the Zombie War, courtesy of the University of Florida's Zombie Response Plan, Zombieland, and Left 4 Dead.  Also we discuss Drag Me To Hell's portrayal of gypsies, how investigate a werewolf sighting and the dubious merits of cannibalism. Zombieland and other recent zombie stories like the Walking Dead comic are shifting the focus from surviving the initial zombie outbreak to living in a zombie world.  Surviving the first 48 hours of infection is necessary, but how do you make it past the first 100 days?  Living in the Zombie War requires a bigger set of the rules, which the boys are happy to provide.  Mudoogul Mudslinger joins in the Halloween fun to talk zombie survival tactics, the University of Florida's short-lived zombie response plan, and the new supernatural haunted house movie, Paranormal Activity.

Greg and Sean go crypto with Scary Gary to discuss the mystery of the Sasquatch, unidentified flying humanoids, the Jersey Devil, Hogzilla, the Loch Ness Monster and Mothman. Plus, Sean has finally seen Inglorious Basterds, so is qualified to form an opinion.

In the inevitable follow-up to VERSUS part 1, the boys discuss TRON vs. the Matrix, Captain Caveman vs. Grape Ape, Han Solo vs. Malcom Reynolds, and of course the Terminator vs. an Allosaurus.  Good water-cooler fodder for your next MENSA meeting.
