Shan talks about his family’s immigrant story from Jaffna, Sri Lanka to Brampton, Ontario, his daughter’s beatboxing skills, being a Tamil in Canada, and the brown artist renaissance. This is a special episode of Maed in India where we’re collaborating with Toto Funds The Arts - an incredible non-profit trust created in memory of Angirus ‘Toto’ Vellani by his friends and family after his tragic and untimely passing in 2004. Toto Funds The Arts nurtures and encourages young artists in India in music, literature and film through awards, workshops and other events.
