  • S08E24: A Dynasty Rises (Super Bowl Review)

    14/02/2023 Duración: 31min

SUPER BOWL REVIEW The season is over and the Kansas City Chiefs stand alone atop the NFL hierarchy after a Super Bowl for ages. Our podcast gave the instant reaction on the night on how the Eagles were defeated and the new Mahomes dynasty was born. We breakdown how the Chiefs had to survive a tough first half where the Eagles had the chance to run away with the game but for a vital fumble return KC TD and some questionable PHI timekeeping at the half. We then give our (heavily edited) views on a fantastic halftime show by Rihanna before discussing how Mahomes and the run game ate up the clock, scored some wide open TDs and leant on some Toney magic (and a dodgy ref call at the end?) to overcome a great but not quite great enough Philly team in the second half. The season is over but what a way to end it. We will be back with our offseason coverage in a few weeks (starting with our Free Agency Preview) but before then a huge thanks to all our listeners for tuning in for another season of news, views and

  • S08E23: The Super Bowl Preview

    09/02/2023 Duración: 01h16min

The Superbowl is here, with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Chiefs have the top scoring offence but Mahomes is on a bum ankle, there are injuries to the WR core and concerns about the pressure this Philly front can bring. On the defensive side DC Spags has been generating pressure and getting good performances out of his young secondary, but will they be able to keep up with the dynamic run game and outside WR talent of the Eagles? The Eagles have danced into the Superbowl with people asking questions about the quality of opponents they have faced, but you can only beat who’s in front of you and they have, for the most part, done that convincingly. Strong line work on offence and defence, a dynamic running QB in Hurts and some top end WR options make them a tough act to beat, but if they fall down do they have the fortitude to pull themselves out of a hole if they fall down a score or two? We look at all the news around the league as well as an in-depth preview of the Superbowl.

  • E22: Pour One Out for the Pro Bowl (Conference Championship Review)

    02/02/2023 Duración: 01h27min

S08E22: POUR ONE OUT FOR THE PRO BOWL (CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS REVIEW) And then there were two. After one close game and one not-so-close game, the lineup for Super Bowl LVII has been set with the Philadelphia Eagles meeting the refs... I mean, Kansas City Chiefs. The AFQ boys break down the Conference Championship games, looking at what happened and why. Did the 49ers ever have a chance without a functional QB? Are the Eagles overhyped? Will the Chiefs be able to field any receivers in the Super Bowl? Were the Bengals screwed over, or did they just fall short in the big spots? We also preview the travesty that is still referred to as the "Pro Bowl". We ask if the best weekend in football will ever be the same, and we break down the rosters to talk about who we would be sending to Vegas. All this and much more from your one-stop shop for news, views and overreactions to all things NFL, the All Four Quarters Podcast!

  • S08E21: Welcome to Conference Season(Divisional Review/Conference Preview)

    26/01/2023 Duración: 01h22min

DIVISIONAL REVIEW + CONFERENCE PREVIEW And then there were four. Divisional weekend is done and that means we are left with the best of the best and this year that means a truly heavyweight Conference round awaits. Before that we get the biggest news stories including a new GM in Tennessee, the Patriots hiring an actual offensive coordinator and the announcement of 2023 International Series home teams. We review each Divisional round game as a hobbling Mahomes (and a Henne cameo) do enough to let the Chiefs beat the upstart Jaguars, Philly beat down their NFC East rival Giants as Hurts & co. dominate from the off, the Bengals have ice in their veins as they bury the Bills hopes in a snowy Orchard Park and the solid 49ers edge out a Dallas team unable to get out of their own way. Finally we preview the Championship round. First up the NFC as the 49ers travel to Eagles and will hope Brock Purdy can survive the fearsome Philly defensive line (and fans) while hoping their elite defense can contain the now-heal

  • S08E20: And Then There Were Eight

    19/01/2023 Duración: 01h56min

Miami ran Buffalo close with their third string QB. A local boy ran back a 98 yard defensive score to give the Bengals the win over Baltimore. Dallas finally got a win against Tom Brady who possibly took his last NFL snap, and the Jags overcame a 4 interception first half to beat the Chargers! We look at all the news from around the league, review the games just gone, and look at the Divisional round matchups coming up this weekend. After the pod duly acknowledges Sean's prediction mastery, the team turn to the Wild Card Round. Do the Seahawks and Dolphins have a chance? Will home advantage count for the Bucs and Jags? How papery are the paper tigers Vikings? And can the Bengals go all the way to the Super Bowl again? All this and much more from your one-stop shop for news, views and overreactions on all things NFL, the All Four Quarters Podcast!
