Coach Harvey Hyde gives his evaluation of the loss to Notre Dame and the disappointing 6-6 season for USC
02/12/2024 Duración: 45minOn this episode of the Peristyle Podcasts hosts Ryan Abraham and Coach Harvey Hyde are back together giving their end of the season evaluation following the Trojans 49-35 loss to Notre Dame Saturday afternoon in the Coliseum. Coach Hyde is not happy with the way the season played out and really wants to see head coach Lincoln Riley do a detailed evaluation of his entire program this off-season, from his coaching philosophies to his staff, players and even how he interacts with boosters, the fans and the media. The guys start off talk about how this game played out, in similar fashion to the other losses the Trojans have endured in 2024. Coach Hyde wants to see more from this offense than throwing fade routes, a strategy that worked most of the game but then cost USC late with Notre Dame's game-sealing pick-6 in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. Coach says Riley is reluctant to run the football, thinks this team shouldn't be throwing it 50 times a game and when they do pass, he wants to see more variety

Tunnel Vision: Pair of pick-6s doom the Trojans comeback bid against No. 5 Notre Dame
02/12/2024 Duración: 01h16minOn this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Jack Smith, Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") are back for the final recap show of USC football's regular season, a 49-35 defeat at the hands of No. 5 Notre Dame. After playing an even first half, the Fighting Irish looked to be in control late in the game before the Trojans, down 7, had a first and 10 at the ND 21 with under 4 minutes on the clock with a chance to tie the game. Then Cornerback Christian Gray squashed the Trojans comeback dreams, snatching Jayden Maiava's pass out of the air before returning it 99-yards the other way. The guys talk about how this game was a microcosm of the Trojans entire season, with chances at success that ultimately ended in failure. USC played well enough to win in all three phases of the game, but couldn't bring it all together and make the plays to finish the game, a common theme throughout the season. Trojans trying to finish strong with an upset victory over No. 5 Notre Dame
26/11/2024 Duración: 01h33minIn this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio for a holiday week edition of the Peristyle Podcast that will also serve as our game preview Tunnel Vision show this week. USC is coming off its 19-13 win over UCLA in the Rose Bowl where the team had the flu. The victory was important for a number of reasons, the rivalry with the Bruins, getting back the Victory Bell and of course becoming bowl eligible. But the level of play wasn't great, with both teams looking like they were ready to give the game to the other side at any moment. The Trojans will need to play a much better brand of football this weekend to have a chance to take down the Fighting Irish in the Coliseum. Notre Dame has won 9 games in a row and are blowing teams out with regularity. The guys talk about this important matchup and what USC would need to do to get the upset win and knock the Irish out of the College Football Playoffs picture. CLICK HERE for 30% OFF an annua

25/11/2024 Duración: 55minOn this episode of the Peristyle Podcasts hosts Ryan Abraham and Coach Harvey Hyde are back together discussing the late Saturday night clash in the Rose Bowl between crosstown rivals USC and UCLA. The stakes for this game weren't as high as both programs would have hoped, but a chance to play in the postseason, the Victory Bell and of course Los Angeles bragging rights were still on the line for the Trojans and the Bruins. Coach Hyde gives his thoughts on USC's 19-13 victory over UCLA, evaluating how quarterback Jayden Maiava performed and how the Trojan offense did overall against the Bruins defense. He also goes in-depth on the performance of D'Anton Lynn's defense, holding UCLA to just 13 points and denying all three 4th down conversion attempts for the Bruins. 25/11/2024 Duración: 01h09minOn this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Jack Smith and Ryan Abraham are back from a late night in the Rose Bowl where they witnessed USC's first ever Big Ten road victory, taking down crosstown rival UCLA 19-13. It wasn't the prettiest game in recent memory, but head coach Lincoln Riley and the team will take the conference win regardless. The Trojans are now 6-5 and bowl eligible with an opportunity to knock Notre Dame out of a playoff berth next week in the Coliseum. This was a far from perfect performance by the Trojans, only scoring one touchdown while struggling in the red zone and allowing over 100 yards rushing to a UCLA squad that struggled to run the football this season. But USC did shutout the Bruins in the 4th quarter and closed out the game on a high note, outscoring UCLA 10-0 in that final period. New quarterback Jayden Maiava didn't turn the ball over and give the Bruins easy scores like he did last week against Nebraska, despite having a flu outbreak on team throughout the we
