24/02/2019 Duración: 59minThe 2019 Oscars are just around the corner and we're reteaming with Wesley Moon to backseat filmmaker these pictures as Hail Satire! discusses the surprises, snubs and smart money for each of the major categories (picture, directing, writing, acting and animation). Can anyone stop the Netflix groundbreaker ROMA, or will the once favorite A STAR IS BORN come back into the picture. Will the controversies around GREEN BOOK or BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY mire them in a win-less night? Can Spike Lee finally land gold with BLACKKKLANSMAN or even, can BLACK PANTHER keep pushing the ceiling for superhero movies as do the impossible? Plus, where was the love for EIGHTH GRADE, SORRY TO BOTH YOU, CRAZY RICH ASIANS, or THE DEATH OF STALIN? From the fly over country in the gut of the American Southwest, this is Ebert and Ernie, Film Critics - performed by Wesley Moon and Vic Shuttee. Originally recorded January 23, 2018. Ernie Kovacs' Essential Comedy Innovations with Film Archivist Ben Model | Late Night Legacies
07/02/2019 Duración: 01h18minErnie Kovacs was a pioneering force in early television and helped lay the foundations of what would later become Late Night Comedy. Ben Model is a renowned silent film accompanist and as an archivist has help preserve and restore lost and damaged films. He's also one of the leading voices who helped the Library of Congress acquire the massive back catalogue of Kovacs films in 2015, and helped curate the impressive 9-disc ERNIE KOVACS: CENTENNIAL EDITION for Shout! Factory, available now. For those who know NOTHING about Kovacs, Ben breaks down the great bits and game-changers that may still impress all these years later. Special thanks to Josh Mills for helping arrange this conversation, and you can get more silent films from Ben through his Undercrank Productions film label at silentfilmmusic.com. Hail Satire! is hosted and produced by Vic Shuttee. Originally recorded on November 19, 2018.

15/01/2019 Duración: 52minWhich came first: the idea or the rip-off? Plus, a few more under-the-radar original film recommendations from two big time fans. Originally record December , 2018. Hail Satire! is hosted and produced by Vic Shuttee.
