  • Chapter 2: THE BIG PICTURE (1989), The Christopher Guest List | Hosted by Mike Bloom and Vic Shuttee

    08/09/2018 Duración: 51min

CHAPTER 2 – After the riotous cult following that developed over THIS IS SPINAL TAP, Christopher Guest takes a 5 year sabbatical from the big screen. He does a year on Saturday Night Live, he appears in bit parts in films like THE PRINCESS BRIDE and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS… and presumably, is pitching a number of projects in Hollywood that don’t gather much steam. It may be only fitting that that frustration mounts into THE BIG PICTURE, the pretty standard (and long forgotten to most) debut film of Guest behind the camera. Starring Kevin Bacon, JT Walsh, Michael McKean and a supporting cameo from Martin Short – this is a far cry from the improvised brilliance of SPINAL TAP. But with inspired sketch like cutaways and even an original song by Guest and McKean, can it really be all bad? The Christopher Guest List is hosted by Vic Shuttee (@VicShuttee) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType). AUGUST 29, 2018 - It's THE DAILY SHOW WEEKLY, hosted by Vic Shuttee (@VicShuttee) and Chandler Dean (@chandlerjdean)! While two more guests enter the elite 4-timers club, they could NOT be more different. Jeri Ryan gets on Jon’s case for past discretions, while Michael Moore demands the resignation from half the Bush administration. Sadly, the Olympics continue and even in a short week – there’s not a ton. But Lauren Weedman knocks it out of the park by vilifying a smoking lobbyist, and avowed Oddball Dave Wolz makes weird naked penis angels in the fresh snow of our patience. • Raelle Tucker, Showrunner on the Cult of SACRED LIES on Facebook Watch (August 6, 2018)

    05/09/2018 Duración: 15min

Conversation #170, recorded on August 6, 2018. We're talking with television writer Raelle Tucker, showrunner and creator of SACRED LIES, which adapts from the Stephanie Oakes book and the Grimm fairy tale of the Handless Maiden. Raelle previously wrote for TRUE BLOOD and SUPERNATURAL. Sacred Lies is an original half hour drama on Facebook Watch. Hail Satire! is hosted and produced by Vic Shuttee.

  • Chapter 1: THIS IS SPINAL TAP (1984), The Christopher Guest List | Hosted by Mike Bloom and Vic Shuttee

    01/09/2018 Duración: 57min

CHAPTER 1 – It all starts with a little rock, about 18 inches in size. The first Guest film may go to 11, but it is not in fact directed by the man himself! Instead, THIS IS SPINAL TAP is a creation of Rob Reiner, and as his oddball former commercial director Marti DiBergi becomes fascinated with the hard nosed lifestyle of the Squatney band Spinal Tap, we too are enraptured with his “rockumentary.” Featuring a banging soundtrack and the improvised brilliance of Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer, THIS IS SPINAL TAP births a genre and leaves us dreaming of the next time we can eat a shit sandwich so sublime. The Christopher Guest List is hosted by Vic Shuttee (@VicShuttee) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType). • Welcome to The Christopher Guest List! | Hosted by Mike Bloom and Vic Shuttee

    01/09/2018 Duración: 15min

PREFACE – In the era before cinematic universes were so commonplace, few directors made use of their filmography quite like Christopher Guest. Armed with a crew of affable familiar faces, the National Lampoon veteran brought improv comedy to mainstream thought a new type of filmmaking with the birth of the Mockumentary genre. Host Vic Shuttee (@VicShuttee) is joined by renowned podcaster entertainment writer for Hollywood Reporter Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType) to break down the characters, structure, improv and music of Christopher Guest’s canon of big screen works. • The Daily Show Weekly: Feb 11-14, 2002 | A Vic and Chandler Rewatch

    30/08/2018 Duración: 01h40min

AUGUST 22, 2018 - It's THE DAILY SHOW WEEKLY, hosted by Vic Shuttee (@VicShuttee) and Chandler Dean (@chandlerjdean)! With love in the air, Jon is feeling inadequate and elects to go after happy people who love him. He depresses Scott Bakula with the harsh realties of his action figure, he fights with ABC’s John Stossel and mocks the crazed gene stealing fears of former Presidential candidate Ralph Nader. Then, in a tour-de-force of self evisceration: Jon breaks the heart of (presumably former) Jon Stewart fan club president, Ms. Rebecca Romijn Stamos. If he was really invited to that three way, you know they’re changing the locks now. AUGUST 21, 2018 - It's THE DAILY SHOW WEEKLY, hosted by Vic Shuttee (@VicShuttee) and Chandler Dean (@chandlerjdean)! As Trump’s America is rocked wildly in modern times, 2002 offers a soothing boredom hard to match. With obligatory coverage of both the Superbowl and the Olympics, the only highlights to report come from (shock!) THE FIELD PIECES? Lauren Weedman offers a fine alternative to Nancy’s travel segment as she tours the great small towns of Utah. Plus, Colbert goes after a State Senator totally NOT in the NRA’s pocket.
