Thumbstick Athletes

We spent quite a few more hours with the newest Mass Effect game, allowing us to give a clearer picture of what it has to offer. 

For this week we were supposed to do Breath of the Wild part 2, but our experiences and thoughts hadn't changed all that much from last week.  For a last minute plan B we figured we would give our first impressions of the early hours of Mass Effect Andromeda.

We talked about the Nintendo Switch last week, so this week we talk about it's only really important launch title Breath of the Wild.  It's the first open world Zelda game and has been getting glowing reviews from nearly everyone.    There's also a bit of an echo in this week's episode.  Apologies for that, we're still trying to work out the kinks in our new setup.

The Switch is finally out and Switchmas for the TSA Podcast was split into Friday the 3rd and Monday the 6th.  Find out our thoughts on the weird console/handheld hybrid system from Nintendo.

This week Eric covers the PS4's next big exclusive Horizon, adding to an already substantial library of exclusive titles. 

Dan beat Life is Strange as part of his duty for 4 in February and figured it was a good opportunity to have a spoiler filled discussion with Corey and Will on it.

For Eric's Birthday we each bring him a topic of discussion from gaming (or not) that we think he'll like to talk about for his b-day.

For the second time in our history we cover a mobile game as our main topic...just don't expect too much more mobile from us!  We cover Fire Emblem Heroes, Nintendo's third foray into the mobile gaming market and hopefully their best yet.

Episode 289...recorded out of order and live from Dan's livingroom, complete with some background noise!  A little quieter for the recording of the main segment which was well after Nibblebits, Our Weeks, What We Played and Feedback.  Corey nicely covers Resident Evil 7 having played it almost to completion, and the newly released Fire Emblem Heroes is briefly covered during What We Played.

After skipping last year, we have another go at the greatest challenge in gaming... Four in February. During "What we Played" we give some brief first impressions of Resident Evil 7, with a full episode on it coming next week.

The Nintendo Switch Reveal event set the gaming world ablaze, and not in a good way for the most part.  Find out our thoughts on the system and Nintendo's plan going forward.

We cover more games coming out this year.  (most likely anyway)  Eric gets to cover some of the games he's interested in and had played a new mobile game newly popular among the TSA Podcast.

New year, plenty of new games coming out so we can wash away some of the cynicism left over from last year's stinkers.  This week we each picked a handful of games to cover for this week, and likely more next week in part 2.

Last week we we prepared by adding, combining and removing some categories all for the main event this week...the 2016 Thumbies. 

The annual Thumbies awards are upon us, so this week we took an episode to get our categories ironed out.  We combined a few awards, got rid of a few, and even added a few for this year...so get ready for the only awards show that matters....The 2016 Thumbies Awards.

A gift guide for those last minute Christmas shoppers out there...get something nice for that special gamer in your life.  Corey and Will also talk briefly about the newly released Super Mario Run. 

Final Fantasy XV is finally out and was experienced by both Corey, a series veteran, and Eric, relative newcomer with some experience with Final Fantasy VIII and X.  Then there's Dan, patiently awaiting a future PC release....

It's once again time for awards in the games industry, kicking off with the newly annual Game Awards.  We talk about the nominees and give our picks, while giving live results of the categories that were announced while we were recording.  We also cover the new Steam Awards and give some of our picks for them.   During What we Played Corey and Eric give their first impressions of Final Fantasy 15, to be covered more in depth next week.

Will takes the lead for this episode, having put in a substantial amount of time in all pokemon games in addition to the newly released Sun and Moon games. 

Though none of us were huge fans of the first, we all thought it had potential and could be greatly improved for the second iteration.  The second game is here in Dishonored 2 and we give our thoughts.    During "What We Played" Eric played the first few hours of Watch Dogs 2 and Dan and Corey tried Tyranny.
