  • WSLS 033 | Interview With Independence Bowl Chairman, Kyle McInnis

    04/12/2015 Duración: 20min

This is a special bonus episode (Ep. 033) we are airing of an interview that my co-host Tony Waller conducted yesterday with Georgia Alumnus and 2015 Camping World Independence Bowl chairman Kyle McInnis. But before we jump into the interview, I wanted to give just a few Georgia football updates as things continue to change every day. Today is Friday, December 4th and earlier this morning, Coach Mark Richt was introduced as 24th Head Coach for the University of Miami football team. Because of this news, it is of course official that Coach Richt will not be on the sidelines for Georgia during their bowl game as he addressed the team yesterday afternoon and reportedly received a “warm send off”. Soon after, Director of Athletics Greg McGarity announced that coach Bryan McClendon will hold the interim head coach title for the Dawgs in whatever bowl destination they go to. One player who will not make the bowl trip is 3rd string QB Faton Bauta as he has decided to transfer. He has graduated and will be allowed

  • WSLS 032 | What Exactly Is "The Georgia Way"? | New UGA HC, Kirby Smart

    03/12/2015 Duración: 01h22min

This has been an unprecedented week surrounding the University of Georgia’s football program. On Sunday, it was announced by AD Greg McGarity that Coach Richt would no longer be the head coach at UGA. Fast forward to late Tuesday night and word broke via the AJC that former Georgia defensive back and current Alabama DC, Kirby Smart would be Georgia’s new head football coach, which would not be completely finalized until after the SEC Championship game this Saturday. And then just recently, sources out of Miami indicated that Coach Richt would accept the head Coaching position for the Hurricanes, which coincidentally is his alma mater and a place where he was a back up QB from 1979-1982. So just as Will Tony and Scott thought as the 2015 college football season was coming to an end, that they’d be able to mail it in and provide some quick shows to talk about bowl selections, and transition into college basketball…all of this would happen! It’s a fairly long episode today where the three hosts spend a majori

  • WSLS 031 | Mark Richt Fired By The University of Georgia

    29/11/2015 Duración: 35min

“A wise and respected old football coach once said, I really believe God called on me to coach, and that is the reason I stayed in it for so long.” ————— ————— ————— 9-3. A respectable year for many college football coaches, was not enough for Coach mark Richt to keep his job at Georgia. As noted by many pundits, a win in this year’s bowl game would make it the 10th time in 15 seasons at UGA that Coach Richt would have posted double digit victories, which is an amazing statistic that might could only be duplicated by one current coach (and we all know who that is). But so it goes in this what have you done for me lately world of college football where a coach who is beloved by his players past and present, admired by fans of all ages and revered as one of the winningest coaches of this century is let go by the university he has given so much to because even though he has won at an astounding clip, the trophy cases of conference and championships have been bare for 10 years now and a coveted national champ

  • WSLS 030 | Georgia vs Georgia Tech | Clean Old Fashioned Hate

    26/11/2015 Duración: 01h09min

This is Episode 030 of the Waitin' Since Last Saturday podcast. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and thank you so much for taking time out of your holiday plans to give our podcast a listen. Today Will Leitch, Tony Waller and Scott Duvall preview the 110th edition of Clean Old Fashioned Hate. Georgia leads the all-time series 64-40-5 After losing to Georgia Tech in Athens last season, UGA looks to start another long winning streak versus the Jackets and take back the Governor’s Cup this year. In this episode The three of us give our thoughts on what we think will happen in Saturday’s game and what the path to victory will be for the Dawgs versus a listless 3-8 Tech team who already had their T-Shirt moment of the season after their cute little win versus Florida State, which obviously didn’t do much to inspire the team because they haven’t won since. But, UGA has its own issues too and we continue our talk on the state of the Georgia football program after a frustrating win versus Georgia Southern last w

  • WSLS 028 | Georgia Bulldogs vs Georgia Southern Eagles | Erk Russell History Lesson

    19/11/2015 Duración: 01h02min

You are listening to Episode 028 of the Waitin' Since last Saturday podcast. Your co-hosts for today are Scott Duvall and Tony Waller. That’s it, for those of you who listen to us on a regular basis our other co-host Will Leitch is in New York City doing a bunch of national television shows for Bloomberg politics. Yeah, he’s kind of a big deal. But have no fear even though we are a man down this week, Tony and Scott have plenty to talk about. The dawgs have a pivotal non conference game versus the Georgia Southern Eagles of the SunBelt conference this week and they are a team that every Georgia fan should be a little nervous about playing. Why? Well, since their last visit to Sanford, They’ve play on the FBS level now, are 7-2 on the season, and lead the entire nation in rushing offense thanks to their dynamic triple option attack… That’s why we, the players and the coaches should have a healthy dose of respect for these Eagles from Statesboro. We break down the 6th ever meeting between GSU and UGA, Geo

  • WSLS 027 | Georgia Bulldogs vs Auburn Tigers Post Game Show

    16/11/2015 Duración: 22min

This is Episode 027 of the Waitin’ Since Last Saturday podcast. Georgia beat Auburn on Saturday 20-13. it wasn’t pretty, but make that 2 in a row over the Tigers and 8 out of the last 10 for the Bulldogs in this series, the south’s oldest rivalry game. In this episode, Will Tony and Scott touch on the obvious in how the defense continues to put Georgia in position to win games. The offense did just enough and with they key being zero turnovers compared to 3 turnovers committed by Auburn. The standout in the game was Isaiah McKenzie as he scored on a jet sweep on offense and returned a punt for 57 yards to account for the only two touchdowns for the Dawgs. There’s a lot of football talk, a little bit of Basketball talk and a brief interruption by the maid as she tries to clean Will’s room while he’s talking to us. You can find this podcast on iTunes, SoundCloud and the Georgia Sports blog. If you haven’t already, please rate, review and subscribe to our show on iTunes. Twitter is always a great way to get

  • WSLS 026 | Georgia vs Auburn Preview | UGA Basketball Season Preview

    12/11/2015 Duración: 01h26min

It is Georgia Auburn week stay tuned for the next hour and a half as the three of us give our thoughts and insight on what the Dawgs need to do to come away with a victory down in Jordan Hare Stadium this weekend, but we cover a wide range of other topics on this special show. College football will be the main topic du jour. But, college basketball tips off this Friday, November 13th. Georgia hosts Chattanooga at Stegman Coliseum so sandwiched right in the middle of this episode we take a break to give a quick little preview of the basketball season. • WSLS 025 | Georgia Bulldogs vs Kentucky Wildcats Post Game Analysis

    09/11/2015 Duración: 25min

Will, Tony and Scott discuss Georgia's 27-3 victory over Kentucky and what this much needed victory could mean for the final three games of the season for Coach Richt and the Bulldogs. The Dawgs employed 5 different Quarterbacks on Saturday. We saw Greyson Lambert, Bryce Ramsey had a couple of snaps and the wildcat (or Wild Dawg) offense was run on multiple occasions with Sony Michel, Terry Godwin and even Isaiah McKenzie taking the snap at times on offense. Jeremy Pruitt's defense held strong and only allowed Kentucky a mere 180 yards total offense during the game. If you were there, it was Military Appreciation Day and it was awesome. One of the best parts took place before kickoff as two F-16s flew overhead. Scott has a great video of the flyover and you can see it here: https://vimeo.com/145005120 Reach out to us on Twitter: Our Podcast: http://twitter.com/wslspodcast Will: http://twitter.com/williamfleitch Tony: http://twitter.com/tylerdawgden Scott: http://twitter.com/jawavifilms Have a great

  • WSLS 024 | State of the Georgia Football Program | UGA vs UK Preview

    06/11/2015 Duración: 01h13min

Welcome to Episode 024 of the waiting since last saturday podcast. Your co-hosts are Will Leitch, Tony Waller and, Scott Duvall After the October swoon for Georgia where the Dawgs went 1 and 3 and were outscored by a combined score of 109 to 53 the feeling around Athens has certainly turned from a season of promise to one of despair as we enter into the final month of the season. Facing the likes of Kentucky, Auburn, Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech in the next four weeks will certainly determine the fate of the bowl situation for Georgia and the performances on and off the field could certainly influence what happens to the current coaching staff as we know it. The three of us try our best to interpret the current state of the UGA football program and preview this Saturday’s game versus Kentucky. Have a great week. We’ll see you on campus. • WSLS 023 | Georgia Bulldogs vs. Florida Gators Postgame Misery 2015

    02/11/2015 Duración: 26min

Episode 023 is here as Will Leitch, Tony Waller and Scott Duvall discuss the debacle that was Georgia Florida 2015. Frustration and confusion abound as Tony and Scott talk about the head scratching game plan that the Dawgs incorporated, questioning everything from the offensive play calling to the ineptitude of Georgia’s special teams, again. Will has been on location covering the World Series and is patched in live from the Citi Field press box in New York before Game 5. Thank goodness the Royals won because that means the three of us will all be back together in person in beautiful Athens Georgia for the next show. But for this episode, Will was able to report on the unique experience he had of watching the first half of the game from the Georgia fan bar, American Whiskey and poses an interesting question from a more national perspective, “Is Georgia as good as the fans think it is?” - - - - - - - - - - Producing this podcast is not easy, especially on days like today. • WSLS 022 | Special Report: The Georgia Quarterback Situation | Georgia vs Florida Game

    30/10/2015 Duración: 15min

Dateline: Jacksonville, Florida Reports are surfacing from Georgia beat writers and other local and national publications that Coach Mark Richt is considering inserting Redshirt Junior and 3rd String Quarterback Faton Bauta as the starter for the Bulldogs on Saturday. Will he indeed start? Will he see significant playing time? Or, is this just a ploy from Coach Richt and the Georgia coaching staff to throw off Jim McElwain and the Gators? Co-hosts Tony Waller and Scott Duvall discuss this late breaking situation. • WSLS 021 | Georgia Bulldogs vs Florida Gators Pregame Show | Larry Munson Tribute

    28/10/2015 Duración: 45min

This is episode 021 of the Waitin’ Since Last Saturday Podcast, the Georgia Florida preview show. Special thanks goes out to Jack and Walker for their spot on reenactment of one of Larry Munson’s most iconic calls of all time. Great job boys. It was almost 35 years ago. November 8th 1980, Georgia quarterback Buck Belue called the play L-76 in the huddle. With help from a key block by lineman Nate Hudson, he connected on an 18 yard curl rout to wide receiver Lindsay Scott over the middle of the field. Scott made the catch and raced 93 yards for the touchdown, Georgia beat Florida 26-21. It was a key victory for Dooley’s Dawgs, which helped catapult the UGA to the1980 National Championship. So, once again, it’s Georgia Florida week and first place in the SEC East is waiting for the winner of this game. Might Georgia still be on pace for a special season? Only time will tell. Listen up as Will Leitch, Tony Waller and Scott Duvall preview the 3:30 CBS game of the week, which takes place this year on Halloween

  • WSLS 020 | SEC Team Rankings (from a Georgia Bulldog fan's perspective)

    22/10/2015 Duración: 01h19min

If you are a die Hard Georgia Bulldog football fan, this podcast episode is for you. Typically on Thursdays, Will Leitch, Scott Duvall & Tony Waller join in previewing the upcoming game that Georgia will be playing. This week, however, the Dawgs are on a bye week. Not even considering taking a week off ourselves, Will decided to have Tony and Scott (two lifelong Georgia fans) rank in order of least objectionable to most objectionable SEC teams, fan bases etcetera. Basically counting it down from 13 to 1 in which schools we actually kind of like to the ones where and 0-8 record in the SEC and finishing with a miserable overall record still wouldn’t be enough to satisfy us. In this episode, Tony will share many stories similar to the one you hear at the start of this episode about the time a DJ tried to play Rocky Top at his wedding to an instance where he literally had Smokey, the Volunteer’s blue tick hound mascot by the collar and was leading him, well, I’ll let him tell the story. We also welcome in a s

  • WSLS 019 | Bonus Episode | Week 8 College Football Pick'em Contest | Georgia Bulldogs

    21/10/2015 Duración: 20min

This bonus episode is the WSLSpodcast Pickem contest for week 8 of the college football season. Co-Hosts: Will Leitch: http://twitter.com/williamfleitch Tony Waller: http://twitter.com/tylerdawgden Scott Duvall: http://twitter.com/jawavifilms Picks: http://funofficepools.com Georgia has a bye this week and last night, the three of us (myself, Tony Waller and Will Leitch) recorded an episode where Will had Tony and me list out the 13 SEC teams in order from 1 to 13 that we as Georgia fans hate to lose to. The reasons we gave ranged anywhere from team colors to objectionable fan bases to even whether or not we even believed they should be members of the SEC in the first place (Texas A&M). Needless to say, it’s an in depth discussion with a lot of fun and frivolity took place…and it ran pretty long. And upon completion of that episode, we quickly realized we had to run through our weekly pick segment. Tony, who runs the picks every week decided to place three Thursday night games on the board, so as a servi

  • WSLS 018 | Georgia Bulldogs vs. Missouri Tigers Postgame Show

    19/10/2015 Duración: 24min

Today on the podcast, Will Leitch, Tony Waller and Scott Duvall discuss Georgia's 9-6 victory over the Tigers as Marshall Morgan hit a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 9th to give the Dawgs the victory. Was it great defense or just bad offense?, Take your pick. But after two deflating loses for Georgia, a win, no matter how it happened was a good thing as the annual Cocktail party down in Jacksonville versus the Gators looms large. If you like variety in your sports podcasts, well, you’re in the right place, naturally, we spend the majority of the time discussing the current state of UGA football, but later in the show, Will, who has been covering the presidential debates for Bloomberg Politics gives us his take on the recent Democratic Debate and as well as his predictions on who he thinks will receive the nomination for both parties for next year’s national election. Towards the end of the show the three of us as always make our picks on some other regional and national games of the week. • WSLS 016 | Georgia vs Tennessee Post Game Show | Poetry Lesson

    12/10/2015 Duración: 23min

We all make mistakes. Which leads me to my next point. “The Best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” a quote from Scottish poet Robert Burns in his poem, “To A Mouse”. To A Mouse and is an idiomatic proverbial expression used to signify the futility of making detailed plans when the ability to fully or even partially execute them is uncertain. There’s your English literature lesson for the day. Similar to Will’s plan to call Tony for this podcast recording, he got Josh instead, similar to my plan of recording this introduction in my studio, but because of technical difficulties, I’m had to use my iPhone instead and similar to Georgia running out to a 21 point lead versus Tennessee, adding to it and cruising to an easy victory, the Dawgs ended up falling short after a furious Volunteer comeback. Our thoughts and prayers here at the WSLS podcast go out to Nick Chubb and his family for a fast and full recovery from the injury he sustained on Saturday. Keep your head up Nick. Thank you to all who hav

In this episode, we quickly touch on “that game played last Saturday in the rain” - instead focusing on what’s ahead as the Georgia Bulldogs make the trip up to Rocky Top, Tennessee. Will Georgia be able to extend its win streak to 6 in a row over the disappointing, but still very dangerous Tennessee Volunteers? Tony, Will and Scott break down the game at length, make predictions on the game (Spoiler Alert: We all pick Georgia), and take a look around the country at some other big games of interest. AND, make sure you stay tuned until the last 5 or so minutes of the show as we invite two very special guest pickers to give their thoughts and score prediction for Georgia versus Tennessee. • WSLS 014 | Georgia Bulldogs vs Alabama Crimson Tide Postgame Show

    05/10/2015 Duración: 26min

Will Leitch, Scott Duvall and Tony Waller touch on the obvious shortcomings that Georgia experienced against Bama as we discuss which one of the 5 stages of grief each of us are currently experiencing. The good news as Tony notes towards the end of this episode is that technically, Georgia still has every preseason goal still intact as the trip up to Knoxville grows closer by the day. And after you finish this episode, I would encourage you to read the article titled, “Georgia Fans: When it rains, it pours.” Link: http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/153156790/georgia-bulldogs-lose-to-alabama Will perfectly sums up the plight that we as fans feel so often when seemingly year after year our football team stumbles and does it in spectacular fashion.
