We talk about his Raspberry Pi products, Sony BVM sync issues and his mind control helmet ;p If you liked this video, please support the Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/retrorgb http://www.retrotink.com http://www.cognionics.com Also, I forgot to ask Mike a question about his upcoming linedoubler - What about 480i signals? Here's his response: "For 480i, it works exactly like the old XRGB or the OSSC. It performs a simple line double from 480i to 480p and passes it out through the HDMI. The handling is essentially identical to 240p sources. To better smooth 480i sources, there's an optional filter that can be turned on. It's basically the same as the old Faroudja DCDi algorithm: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/... You can also use it for 240p sources. The effect is kind of like the old 2xSAI emulator filter." --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/retrorgb/support

Here's an interview with Ace; Genesis aficionado, clone console tinkerer, fellow retrogaming nerd like the rest of us! Please support the Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/retrorgb FM Sound Chip Samples: http://www.retrorgb.com/files/Genesis_DAC_Noise_Samples-YM2612vsYM3438.zipMy page inspired by Ace's work: http://www.retrorgb.com/genesisversions.htmlAce's Genesis board research: http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?7796-GUIDE-Telling-apart-good-Genesis-1s-and-Genesis-2s-from-bad-ones   Ace asked if I'd post these minor corrections to the interview: 17:25 - A CMOS device can both source and sink current, and while an NMOS gate typically sinks current through a pull-up resistor, the YM2612's DAC outputs SOURCE current through 2.2Kohm pull-down resistors connected to the analog outs. In short, both the YM2612 and YM3438 source current, but the YM3438 can source far more of it. 18:29 - Resistance was dropped
