The semi-annual tradition of us talking in front of a bunch of people continues with this overview of the 16-bit era. Kurt Kalata of Hardcore Gaming 101 joins Frank Cilfaldi, Chris Kohler, and a very under-the-weather Jeremy Parish for this PAX East talkstravaganza!

GamePro's Jason Wilson joins Kat and Scooter to wrap-up GDC with a look at upcoming MMORPGs for 2011 before offering a final verdict on Dragon Age II. Afterward, stick around for an interview with Deus Ex: Human Revolution's Jean-Francois Dugas & David Anfossi, and a fond farewell from Kat as she bids goodbye to 1UP.

Okay, you want games? We got games. With Jeremy and Frank out at PAX East, we wrangle Justin Haywald and Mike Cruz into the studio to talk about nothing but games (and nonsense). No news items or voicemail questions this time -- we talk about: Dead Island, El Shaddai, Uncharted 3, Mortal Kombat, Shoot Many Robots, Shadows of the Damned, Darkness 2, Alice: Madness Returns, Hawken, Trenched, and more (that was only half the list, listen for the rest!). We still get sidetracked along the way, but seriously, this time, it's about games, dammit.

With Frank at PAX East, Mike and Travis welcome Mike Nelson to the studio as this week's guest staffer. They discuss his recent vacation to Hawaii, Guy Fieri's stolen Lamborghini, and the perils of eating too many hamburgers. In the after-segment, Mike and Justin begin what will hopefully be a series of epic Pokemon battles.

Holy crap guys! The Game Developer's Conference happened! And we were there! We lost Alice in the crowd so we recorded without her.

Alan Johnson fills in for a Frank (who is busy covering GDC) this week; and he, Mike, and Travis discuss what?s going on with Charlie Sheen, GDC, and the art direction of Dead Space 2. In Final Notes, the three cut loose with with some long pent-up Star Wars gripes.

Jeremy Parish is joined by resident pokemaniacs Justin Haywald and Kat Bailey to discuss the history and mystery of Pokémon (though mostly they just shout at each other about a children's game while strangers listen in awkward silence).

In part one of our GDC Special Series, Dammit, the Table of Four features Thierry Nguyen, Matt Leone, Justin Haywald, and special guest Peter Molyneux. We chat about his own gaming habits, and what's been going on at the Game Developer's Conference so far. It's a quick 45-minute show, but we blaze through such topics as the iPad 2, the Nintendo keynote (and its accompanying announcements about Netflix, Mario, and Zelda), Yu Suzuki's career, The Last Guardian, inFamous 2, and Battlefield 3. The Nintendo 3DS is out in Japan, and the 8-4 crew is back from launch morning chaos with a pile of brand new 3DS gear and a bevy of special guests ready to give hands-on impressions, including Brad Douglas of Sony (shock!) and Che Chou of Microsoft (awe!). Tune in for first thoughts on the hardware, the games, the 3D camera, the AR cards, and much, much more.

With her comrades busy getting ready for GDC, Kat bravely strikes out on her own once again to finally decide whether or not she hates Dragon Quest VI (Spoiler: She doesn't). Also on tap for this week is Valkyria Chronicles 3 discussion, and a chat with BioWare's Mike Laidlaw!

Topics for the week include follow-through from the Duke Nukem Titty City discussion, the Dead Island trailer that everyone else talks about, the Smithsonian's game exhibit (and how Frank and Scooter ended up being on the advisory board for a different museum), the fame of Felicia Day, Double Fine's Once Upon A Monster, and the non-development of Mirror's Edge 2. Then we tackle questions about the review process, whether we want to truly see Mass Effect's Tali unmasked, and what sci-fi books would make good adventure games. Also, we briefly break an embargo, but rather than delete the conversation altogether, we edited it to feature dinosaurs in its place. Enjoy until next week!

Thud... Thud... Thud... The water in your cup shakes. What can it be? You look over at your monitor; a podcast appears! We're joined this week by one Matt Clark (you may recall his winning blog entry a few years back that scored him a ticket to E3!) as we discuss Telltale Games' recent bevy of game announcements, including the dinotastic Jurassic Park. Some other stuff is discussed after that, but the important part is that Sam still doesn't know how to enter his credit card information into PSN. We must all take pity upon his purchase-disabled existence.

While Wil works at constructing features; Mike, Travis, and Frank break out the comics to discuss lame Batman villains, Superman IV, Dazzler, and Frank's haul of comics from a ten-cent bin at NYCC.

Special guest Tim Rogers fills in for Matt and Scooter as Frank and Jeremy run the show and try not to break anything. Tim brought cookies but don't worry: they're chewy, you don't have to hear us crunching. Topics include: which real-world cities have the best level design, the sad state of nothingbut.net, and videogames.
