Crossing Guards & Eureka Draft Bicycle Ordinance
14/04/2015Emily and I speak with Matt Harvey of the CHP and Joan Levy of the Department of Health and Human Services about the Redwood Crossing Guard Program and the Launch of this pilot program at Lafayette Elementary in Myrtletown. We also talked about the next iteration of the Draft Bicycle Ordinance in Eureka. When this was first proposed it met with a great deal of controversy. Other agencies have since weighed in on it. The city council will be discussing it today.

Manilla Bike & Ped Improvements

Eureka South Entry Project
10/03/2015This morning Emily and I spoke with Jeff Schwein of Green Dot Transportation Solutions and Charles Roecklein, City Engineer for Eureka. The south entry to Eureka was looked at in terms of safety and aesthetic. Various different solutions are being discussed at a public workshop tomorrow (Wednesday) starting at 5:30pm at the Wharfinger Building by the small boat basin in Eureka.

California Walks

Bigfoot Trail Alliance

He is now helping to launch a new non-profit, the Bigfoot Trail Alliance, to steward the development of a formalized hiking trail in the Klamaths - like the PCT. The Bigfoot Trail will traverse many existing routes in the national forests through northern CA from the Yolla Bollys to Crescent City.
