We had some technical difficulties at the beginning of today’s show and got a late start. We opened with the CNNMoney.com story about a Merrill Lynch report that was released today. Let’s just say that their report predicted quite a different forecast for housing prices than Lawrence Yun over at the NAR predicted. Listen to this episode to find out more.

The New York Times rocked the real estate world today by reporting about a couple in Southern California who are suing their real estate agent claiming misrepresentation. The article titled, “Feeling Misled on Home Prices, Buyers Sue Agent” tells the story of the lawsuit filed by the Ummels and their fight with agent Mike Little. We discussed the situation with John Hokkanen, who’s wife, Margaret Hokkanen, was the agent who’s flyer led to the case. John gave us his points of view and what he thinks of the situation. As a side note, we will be hearing more from John as the B&B Crew like what he is doing marketing his listings.

Today we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Barry C made a great post yesterday titled, “What does tomorrow mean to you?”. Barry C made the statement that the lessons of Dr. King have been lost on today’s society. That instead of seizing the opportunities provided by those like Dr. King, people have instead chosen to “blame their economic insufficiencies on others”. In the news today… Jesse Jackson was at it again. Barry C and I actually got into quite the conversation about Barry C’s dooming predictions. He brought up the very real possibility of homeowners suing their banks for predatory lending and civil rights violations. You really need to listen to this episode to understand what could possibly be the “nightmare scenario” for cities and banks. Here comes the good news, what may be a nightmare for the banks and cities can actually turn into a windfall for savvy investors. This one is worth listening to a few times. Also the start of the foreclosure Fire Season has officially begun. We talked about this a week or so ago and told everyone to be on the lookout for “mysterious fires” in homes in foreclosure. Well, Sheryl Christman from Gaines Township, Michigan is facing up to 20 years in prison for setting fire to her home that was in foreclosure. More to follow on this I am sure. Another episode down and more predictions from the economists. Depending on who you ask, and their mood at the time, everyone has a different opinion about when the housing market will rebound. Here is a hint..Make things happen yourself and don’t wait for your surroundings to change, change your surroundings. As Barry C always says, When you look yourself in the mirror tonight ask yourself if you did EVERYTHING you needed to do today to become successful, and be honest. If the answer is anything other than absolutely, then you have some soul searching to do.

Another week gets started off right here at Real Estate Radio USA. After talking about the latest news out of NAR, we went had an interview with Tom Long from the Osceola County Landlord Association

This was a true Friday edition of Real Estate Radio USA. We played today pretty loose and fast. We started off with a bit of news, trying to figure out what these cities are thinking by suing all the banks. That is sort of like the recording industry suing the people that listen to their music

Well, we started off the day with our dealings with the NAR (National Association of Realtors). Barry C wrote an article last night that talked about a recent NAR report. I guess the NAR took issue with the title that Barry C used in his post. They had their big, bad attorney Michael Thiel call us.

Today was ALL about marketing. First we discussed the news from the NAR that told everyone to pretty much hang it up if you are involved in real estate in 2008. The buggywhippers are spewing the same things that they are telling the media not to do!

We talked about the interview between Charles McMillian (the President-Elect buggywhipper) and Jim Cramer from Mad Money on MSNBC. Talk about Charles showing up to a gunfight with a stick, man was that guy unprepared.

This was our Christmas show. We had some fun and kept it pretty light. Barry and I gave everyone our 2008 resolutions and predictions.

Lots of good news today. Bush signed the Mortgage Debt Relief Act of 2007. Let the Short Sales begin folks. It should be open season on real estate investments for everyone right now. Our end of year Top Ten lists...warning...it's provocative!

Today Barry C unveiled his views on how and why the mortgage crisis really happened. Far fetched? I thought so also, but really listen to what he has to say about this. It might just give you a different perspective and change your views. Some of what he talked about actually made me sick at my stomach. Listen and let us know what you think!
