  • OFD Podcast: Defending Notre Dame's Independence and cheese curds

    01/06/2020 Duración: 01h37min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan are back at it - as we all seem to be around this time each year. It's the offseason, so of course there's an article or podcast or radio bit or television broadcast that trips over itself to question Notre Dame's Independence. In doing so, it usually triggers a response from fans of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and we step in to help with that conversation. In this episode: We take on Chris Childers' takes from the Full Ride. Would the ACC and John Swofford try to strong-arm the Irish? What might the 2020 schedule look like? Why the Oregon Ducks - like seriously? Secret love for the Pittsburgh Panthers Notre Dame and Wisconsin - will it be in Lambeau or not? CROOTIN! The Amazon is wild AF. An update on the rivalry trophy with the Northwestern Wildcats. And a ridiculous amount of other good stuff is mixed in as well. Please RATE and REVIEW! • OFD Podcast: Is Notre Dame a top 5 football program?

    26/05/2020 Duración: 02h10min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan were able to find their way to a computer on a lovely Memorial Day night to bring you a utility Notre Dame Fighting Irish podcast. You asked the questions - and we delivered the answers. In this episode: Why do people hate the Brian Kelly coaching tree / BK touch? Who matters more in 2020 - Kyren Williams or Chris Tyree? What's the next Notre Dame themed movie? Who does Notre Dame schedule if the USC Trojans and Stanford Cardinal aren't allowed to play the Irish? Can Notre Dame be a top 5 recruiting team? Where does Notre Dame ranks in the "best programs" category in college football? What new ND gear do we need for our wardrobe? Why Stanford? Who's getting the tickets this year? How does Notre Dame replace Chase Claypool? Should you ever get rid of a snowblower? Top 5 terrible plays that sent Notre Dame in a downward spiral. Top 5 great plays that sent Notre Dame on an upward trend. And plenty more mixed in and out of the show. Please RATE and REVIEW! All reviews left

  • OFD BOOKCAST: The intensity of Ara Parseghian

    24/05/2020 Duración: 41min

We are moving forward with Notre Dame's Greatest Coaches by Steven Singular and Moose Krause - even if that means in a different way. After some bad takes, I finally decided to just read chapters 12 and 14. Within those chapters, we get a reveal about Ara and his particular coaching style. There was a tremendous amount of intensity that Parseghian put out, but it was controlled and used for singular purposes. Hear how Ara's determination to win lead to innovations for him as a coach that ultimately lead to a lot of victories for Notre Dame. There's also some very flowery language about the University of Notre Dame, the football program, and a call to violence. Please forgive my raspy voice as it's a little (like a lot) more noticeable with lengthy readings. Don't forget to rate and review. Mike Brey on the edge of a cliff. The end of the season. The ACC. The legend of John Mutton AKA John Mooney. Notre Dame's roster moving forward. What the Irish need to succeed next season. 20/05/2020 Duración: 01h35min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan are back at, and this time... we have way more questions than answers about a Notre Dame Fighting Irish football season. In this episode: Cheerleaders be breaking rules. In this episode: The Will Shipley incident and what the Clemson Tigers are doing The official visit bust What is Notre Dame doing with their running back recruiting? The importance of cornerback Philip Riley Linebacker is a position on the field - so why aren't the Irish doing much about it in the 2021 cycle? Stars and their meaning Blake Fisher's role in recruiting Tremendous food takes A quick roundtable about the documentary The Last Dance And a ridiculous amount of "other things" weaved in and out of the show. • OFD Podcast: The Notre Dame football fantasy of "what if?"

    12/05/2020 Duración: 02h06min

Joshua, Jude, and Brendan got together on a cozy Monday night to talk about a handful of "what if?" scenarios for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program. It's only fair to share that we could not cover ALL of the crazy moments and games throughout the last 30 years, so if we didn't get to yours - please share in the FanPost section on One Foot Down. In this episode: We cover the commitment of Nick McCloud and his impact Recruiting in a nutshell A round robin of what if's (No spoilers here) The multiple rabbit holes here is worthy of a terrible Oliver Stone movie There is also a bonus 20 seconds of Jude and Josh yelling at one another in the pre-show meeting (Obviously Jude was dead wrong) Please rate and review! • OFD Podcast: Notre Dame's 1993 and 2005 football seasons were basically the same

    06/04/2020 Duración: 01h54min

The OFD Podcast spread the fun about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program all over on Sunday. Josh and Jude talked with Greg Flammang from UHND ( @greg2126 on Twitter) about some thoughts he had after Saturday Night's game watch between the Irish and the Florida State Seminoles. • OFD BOOKCAST: Notre Dame's Frank Leahy was a crazy genius

    03/04/2020 Duración: 40min

The OFD Bookcast returns as we get deeper into Notre Dame's Greatest Coaches by Stephen Singular and Moose Krause. In this episode I discuss the next three chapters of the book which include: Frank Leahy becoming the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Frank's coaching style - a bit medieval Changing greatness for MORE greatness Moose's role in the Leahy regime Why Frank is THE MAN My bad attempt at an Irish brogue Fear and respect, and the obsessiveness to winning Straight up brawls The 1992 loss to the Stanford Cardinal and Moose's response And a little bit more weaved in and out. After recording, I really feel like I fell short of explaining the brilliant madness of Frank Leahy - which in the 1940's would have meant that Moose would be allowed to just hit me over and over again for like an hour. So... be sure to read the book. Please take a moment to rate and review. All reviews on Apple Podcasts will be read on the next OFD Podcast. Go Irish! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit meg
