  • OFD Podcast: Our Christmas present to you is Notre Dame's Hawaii Bowl victory (NO Game Sound)

    23/12/2019 Duración: 01h26min

Merry Christmas! We know there is a lot going on this week with the holidays and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish still have that Camping World Bowl date against the Iowa St. Cyclones - but we have something a little special to give to you. Christmas Eve marks the 11th anniversary of Notre Dame's 49-21 win over the Hawaii Warriors in the Hawaii Bowl. Not only was it a tremendously fun game to watch, it also finally ended Notre Dame's bowl losing streak that stretched back to their last win in January of 1994. We (Josh, Jude, and Brendan) sat down to watch a one hour cut-up of the game and this is the podcast... us commenting all the way through. In fact, there are two versions of this podcast. One has the game sound with it to follow along, and one version has no game sound. The one with no game sound is available so that you can watch a video of the same version of the game while listening to us riff all over it. That YouTube link IS RIGHT HERE. We hope you enjoy whatever version you choose (why no both?) and f

  • OFD Podcast: The Long And Rees of it all at Notre Dame

    16/12/2019 Duración: 01h26min

Josh and Jude were joined by Brendan to talk about the firing of Chip Long by Brian Kelly and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and we speculate (with care) about the possible rise of Tommy Rees. The conversation stayed amazingly on topic for most of the episode, but this is a something that is a little more complicated than what lies on the surface. (Seems like there is A LOT of stuff here). They don't claim to have all of the answers here, and in fact, they probably raise more questions that need to be answered. It is what it is. A few of the non Long/Rees/Kelly topics: John Shannon Todd Lyght A wee bit of recruiting We continue to ask that you consider giving to one of these fine charities this holiday season. Each one is organized by one of our fellow Notre Dame Twitterati members, and a great way to get those awesome feels during the Christmas season. Ryan Ritter's (HLS) Extra-Life mission Chris Wilson's (Rakes Report) fundraiser for the Center for the Homeless in South Bend Steve Neuman's (Tax Bas

  • OFD Podcast: Camping World Bowl is Notre Dame's Festivus

    10/12/2019 Duración: 01h18min

The Festivus season is here! The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are heading to Orlando to play the Iowa State Cyclones in the Camping World Bowl - and everyone is excited. Josh, Brendan, and Brad assemble themselves for a delicious podcast meal, and this is what we came up with: Airing of grievances... we list the many wrongs the AP and CFB Playoff committee have committed with the Irish over the last six weeks. We really dug deep here and yeah... the Irish got hosed. Feats of Strength... we shed some positive light on this years team and the situation they find themselves in. Festivus Pole... Did you know that the pole is actually the Jeweled Cornllelagh?! Festivus Miracle... Jude joined right at the end to let all of you know how to help spread a little more cheer this holiday season with some great charity options. ***Ryan Ritter's (HLS) Extra-Life mission ***Chris Wilson's (Rakes Report) fundraiser for the Center for the Homeless in South Bend ***Steve Neuman's (Tax Bastard) fundraiser to help less fortun

  • OFD Podcast: Notre Dame's biggest villains

    05/12/2019 Duración: 01h08min

Josh and Brendan are in the Christmas spirit and that means Christmas movies are flying into the VCR/DVD/Blu-Ray Players and streaming services. The best Christmas movies have iconic villains, and so here we are with an internet connection and a microphone talking about some of the biggest villains for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish over the last 30 years. Josh is 41 and Brendan is 35, so no... we ain't talking about Anthony Davis - although the USC Trojans are well represented. We obviously didn't get to ALL of them, and the lightning round at the end made us crazy since some of them are MASSIVE Irish villains and they were relegated to just a quick mention. Even after that, there is still a LONG list of villains unmentioned. Join in the fun in the comment section over at One Foot Down to let us now who we missed and who are some of the biggest ND villains according to you. 04/12/2019 Duración: 01h13min

Jude and Brendan hot-wired the OFD Podcast machine to talk about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and so much more from around the college football world. In this episode: Recapping the Stanford Cardinal game Season expectations in July versus today’s reality Looking ahead to 2020 and also looking back to 1992 Bowl projections and power ranking which Big 12 opponent we’d most like to see George Atkinson’s untimely passing The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals. • Giving THANKS for Notre Dame football

    28/11/2019 Duración: 19min

In this OFF THE RAILS episode, The Emperor & Supreme Warlord took a few minutes to list off some of the things he is thankful for with this 2019 Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team. There are many things we could complain about - but that's not the spirit of Thanksgiving. It's a short episode, so if you're in need of a quick break from your lovely family for a few minutes, it's a good way to get some of those positive vibes inserted right into your veins via the universe. Please take a moment to rate and review (if you really want to be thankful lol). Go Irish! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • OFD Podcast: Notre Dame, Bomb Cyclones, Rivalries And Rankings

    27/11/2019 Duración: 01h25min

Josh and Jude get a little amped up for their favorite holiday of the year... THANKSGIVING! It's also Jude's 40th birthday - so be sure to wish him well by making a charitable donation to (Her Loyal Sons) Ryan Ritter's Extra Life Charity. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish handled the Boston College Eagles quite easily, and will end the season out on The Farm against the Stanford Cardinal. Here's what we have for you in this episode: Thanksgiving love. Notre Dame's win over BC (quickly). The Fan Feed broadcast from NBCSN. BOMB CYCLONE. THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF RANKINGS (like a lot about all of that). Bowl stuff. Blow up the current bowl system and start over. Is Stanford a rival? We say goodbye before we give predictions. We give predictions. And more weaved in and out like a fine silk shirt. Please RATE and REVIEW to give us that sweet sweet validation. GO IRISH! Learn more about your ad choices. • Notre Dame's shiny gold pants, a bowl, and Frank Leahy

    21/11/2019 Duración: 27min

This weekend's game between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Boston College Eagles is going to be a weird one (at least visually). NBC is offering up what amounts to be a "homer broadcast" on NBSCN, and word is that they will be celebrating Doug Flutie's Hail Mary against Miami at halftime. Seriously. Something else has bothered me for a few months about this game, and it's something that I've already put out there into the universe. Why is Notre Dame wearing 1988 throwbacks to celebrate 150 years of college football? Why aren't they celebrating Frank Leahy - especially given the ties to BC and Under Armour? I discuss in this Off The Rails episode. Please RATE and REVIEW because we need more validation in our life. GO IRISH! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • OFD Podcast: Kind of a Notre Dame VS Boston College Preview

    21/11/2019 Duración: 01h16min

Josh, Jude, and Brad are back at it - and with much joy in their hearts about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. When you last heard our heroes, there was a great debate about the scariness of the Navy Midshipmen. As it turned out... nah. In this episode: Notre Dame's thumping of Navy. Chase Claypool is a legend we never fully appreciated. Is a "coach in waiting" a good thing? So what's up with the college football playoff rankings? The Eastern Michigan Eagles are bowl eligible. Slightly more MAC talk because Miami. Strength of schedule stuff. Has the 2019 college football season been a good season overall? Notre Dame's bowl situation. Haunting thoughts of the Camping World Bowl. Is there a real path to the Orange Bowl? Boston College preview of about 2 minutes. Proper shout outs. Back track to predictions for Saturday. And much much more weaved in and out like the wandering misfits that we are. Please be sure to rate and review because that means a lot to us you guys. GO IRISH! Learn more about

    09/11/2019 Duración: 02min

Now that we have a shorter version for the OFD Podcast, here's the full Notre Dame Victory March in 8-bit Nintendo style for you to use whenever that special mood strikes. The song was created by CuppyCup from Good Bull Hunting. He also created many other college football fight songs in this style, and those can be found over on his Reddit thread. Enjoy! GO IRISH! • OFD Podcast: Figuring out this whole Notre Dame football thing

    01/11/2019 Duración: 01h24min

Josh welcomes very good friend of the podcast, Greg Flammang from UHND.com. Throughout the show we both try to talk about the upcoming game against the Virginia Tech Hokies - but we kept circling back to the Michigan game. It's hard to know where the Notre Dame Fighting Irish really are right now, so it gets a little messy with a discussion that touches a lot of different things. The future of this season is also talked about in great length. What these last 5 games mean, and what constitutes a "good season." The recording is a little off from the usual. Josh was at a different location and on equipment that he normally doesn't use. The dedication should be noted. Go Irish! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • Moving onward with Notre Dame after a loss

    30/10/2019 Duración: 32min

Josh sat down for an OFF THE RAILS episode, and it's kind of a grab bag of a show. There are rants, opinions, and declarations - and might actually make some sense if you turn the lights down low, put a dope beat on in the background, and crack open a dozen PBR's (which would be incredible for 30 minutes). The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have the Virginia Tech Hokies in just a few days... so we kind of need to get over our butts hurting and move forward. I'm sorry, but you know damn well that I'm not sorry. Go Irish! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • OFD Podcast: Notre Dame got beat TF up by Michigan

    27/10/2019 Duración: 01h11min

AUDIO ISSUES ARE FIXED NOW! SORRY! Josh and Brendan sit down and try to make sense of Notre Dame's 45-14 loss to Michigan. SPOILER: Nothing makes sense and everything is dark and terrible and lonely. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • Random word vomit about Notre Dame vs Michigan

    25/10/2019 Duración: 31min

Josh finally managed to make his way over to the podcast machine to give a few thoughts about Notre Dame vs Michigan. It's not NPR - it's more like some crazy asshole talking in the shower to the conditioner bottle. It sounds fine - it's fine - but Josh shaves his head, so conditioner isn't exactly needed. • OFD Podcast: The Notre Dame VS Michigan Horror Show

    23/10/2019 Duración: 01h05min

Jude is joined by Brendan McAlinden (@verypiratey), staff writer and Ann Arbor native, for a breakdown of Michigan: Stats that matter and those that don’t coming into Saturday’s game. Michigan’s preseason strengths haven’t materialized. Turnover margin is a real strength this year for Notre Dame. The damage that past Michigan games have done to Irish fans’ psyches. Betting line at Michigan -1. Does that feel right? Why this game might play out like the last time Notre Dame played a ranked team in the state of Michigan. It’s Halloween season, so which horror franchise best describes the 2009-2011 Notre Dame-Michigan games? And much more! Please RATE and REVIEW! Go Irish! Learn more about your ad choices. • OFD Podcast: Notre Dame beat its rival... AGAIN (not exactly UCLA)

    16/10/2019 Duración: 01h34min

Josh and Jude finally got around to talk about the latest win from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish - this time it was a rivalry win over the USC Trojans: It was a good night: Tony Jones Jr. mauling people The Trojan plan for Chase Claypool Ian Book's performance Jamir Jones Chip Long's playcalling UCLA Bruins sighting BRIAN KELLY ON THE FIELD!
