Blowing up Notre Dame's schedule and composing a new one
06/04/2023 Duración: 02h37minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan are back to podcast like blood-thirsty pod warriors about Notre Dame football (and a little more). This week we are joined by our good friend, Greg Flammang (@greg2126) from ISD's Hit and Hustle podcast/show. In this episode: HELLO! Four adjectives to use for Tommy Rees and automatic swaggy. A shorts beef that might be regional, but Joshua is ready to roll. REVIEWS! A full-throated defense of Jude's assertion that the Ace card is NOT a face card. A full-throated complaint about mentioning certain people in the reviews that other people leave to be read word for word. Greg enters the portal. We're blowing up Notre Dame's 2023 football schedule so we can create a better one - an epic one. One by one the 12 games are drafted by the guys and they tell you why all 12 have got to go. It's nothing short of pure genius the way the fellas put the schedule back together for maximum effect. Some quick thoughts on spring football with some extra sauce poured on the wide receiver group

The Great Naming of Names for Notre Dame Football
31/03/2023 Duración: 35minIt's spring football time for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and we almost let one of the all-time great podcast traditions slip away without a fight... the GREAT NAMING OF NAMES! As it goes with any simple tradition... the greatness is in the simplicity, and the appreciation of those that love it (looking right into your beaver butt eyes Brendan). Please RATE and REVIEW! All reviews left on Apple Podcasts will be read on the next Earned 5-Star Podcast. As I mentioned in this episode, we are developing some ideas for our offseason podcast schedule. Obviously this show WINS the offseason every damn year because fun and fancy are not dead on this show. In that spirit, and because our listeners as as much a part of the show as the three hosts, if there are any show "themes" you would like to hear this offseason, please send them to subwaydomer26@gmail.com (keep them out of the reviews and it will be a fun surprise for everyone). I can't promise that we will dedicate a show to every single one of your ideas, but

What does Jack Swarbrick, Father Jenkins, and Notre Dame want?
28/03/2023 Duración: 03h04minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan follow up on a chaotic weekend regarding Notre Dame athletics and bring on Matt Brown from the Extra Points Newsletter to help clarify Jack Swarbrick's and Father Jenkins' actions with the New York Times op-ed. In this episode: HELLO! Is an Ace a face card? REVIEWS! We always knew this podcast was artificially intelligent. Joshua's kitchen fresco. Jude and Joshua welcome Matt Brown to the show to help explain what the New York Times op-ed by Jack Swarbrick and Father Jenkins actually means. Matt wrote an excellent piece about the entire situation, but the reason we brought him on the show was more than just that. Matt is the FOIA king, and has a fantastic grasp and understanding of the ins and outs of college athletics without making outlandish claims. Joshua asked him to explain all of this like he was an 11-year old boy that just got into dad's scotch... so we're pretty sure he gave an excellent interpretation. Brendan gives his overall thoughts and we all agree that we can

Ready to start (another) new Notre Dame Football era
20/03/2023 Duración: 02h15minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan are back to start a new era for the pod... The Earned 5-Star Podcast on the Fans First Sports Network is now a real thing (and 99.9% the exact same as what things used to be). We just wished there was MORE Notre Dame football news to talk about - but that never stopped us from creating a two-hour podcast before, so LFG! In this episode: HELLO! Quick power ranking of home improvement stores. REVIEWS! The best building on EMU's campus? Does the water tower count? Mansplaining endowments and cussing. Fans selling tickets to fans of the opponents. Lou Holtz as a villain, but also Lou Holtz as a victim. Both things can be true. Coming up with the best of list for a variety of things. Spring football starts this week for the Irish. Be prepared for less info than you want ( as we have preached for weeks now). We are excited for Sam Hartman and the offense to be different than we have seen. Which WR gets the spring treatment? Worried about the edge on defense. Marty Biagi and

Notre Dame's spring football QB competition is a social construct
09/03/2023 Duración: 02h34minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan are prepping for Notre Dame football's spring practice period by prepping for the prep with some podding. Got it? In this episode: HELLO! It was a bloody mess. REVIEWS! Our listeners tripped over themselves to defend the honor of the podcast, and we are here for that (and mostly that by the sound of it). Notre Dame to the Big 10? No... but we break out the conference realignment talk which is mostly about money. Brendan makes a fool of himself with a frozen pizza take that is the trashiest that we've ever heard. We ate an entire wheel of cheese (again). Remembering toll road beverages. We ain't cringe, buddy. Brendan's Spotify playlist was a hit. Renaissance man. Brendan can't pronounce Gino Guidugli and Jude KNOWS it. The fake QB competition between Sam Hartman and Tyler Buchner. Getting the quarterback progression right is not something Notre Dame has done well over the last 20 years. Spring football is a social construct. Rank Everything: Top 5 Mall Stores from p

Just Some Notre Dame Football Buffoonery With Dads
01/03/2023 Duración: 02h25minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan are here to tell you - IT'S SPRING - so now the pod has sprung for the latest Notre Dame Football news (kind of). In this episode... Yeah... I'm not going to bulletpoint this week either. If I did, I might spoil the surprise that is this show. Somehow we covered all of the relevant points surrounding the Notre Dame football program which is highlighted by the recent hiring of Joe Rudolph as the new offensive line coach. Outside of that... things are pretty light, so this podcast might have its more than normal share of "other things" for you to enjoy. Well - maybe not you NDGrad76, but normal people will certainly appreciate this latest offering. As a bonus... we threw in some other Notre Dame winter/spring talk as well. Please RATE and REVIEW! Notre Dame Football's new War Daddy is home
23/02/2023 Duración: 02h15minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan dust off the old pod machine to breakdown a full range of emotion concerning Notre Dame Football's offensive coordinator search, and the hiring/promotion of Gerad A.K.A Gerard A.K.A. War Daddy Parker. You don't need a bulletpoint list of the material in this episode. We're here - even if it's a little later than others - to go from 3 candidates, to hockey parades, to fumbling the ball, to fumbling the message, to fumbling a snarky email, to everything surrounding the situation. Obviously, there are more than a few diversions along the way, but if you want to know just how insane and out of bounds it gets then you're just going to have to give it a listen. We can say that despite how we feel about the process, we're excited to see what goes down with War Daddy. Please RATE and REVIEW! We got that old 2012 Notre Dame Football feeling again
10/02/2023 Duración: 02h24minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan are back on the hunt for the perfect Notre Dame football podcast episode, and even though this isn't it... we think you'll have some fun with it. In this episode: HELLO! The saga of Brian Kelly and his divorce -- which didn't happen. Notre Dame is still very much in the hunt for the perfect offensive coordinator. Real news has been scarce, but the tidbits we do have are pretty interesting. Joshua swoons about the T-Formation and the Maryland I. Three candidates have surfaced as the main guys (for the moment) in Sean Lewis, Collin Klein, and Andy Ludwig. Reliving a 2012 vibe and trying to get to the bottom of it all. We go through many rounds of discussion about those three. What's the NFL got to do with this? What is an appropriate timeline for Notre Dame to wrap this up? Notre Dame's claim to 22 National Championships is alive and well with this podcast -- just gotta get everyone else in line. Rank everything: Top 5 go-to kid dinners in a rush. And plenty more weaved in

Tommy Rees and his Notre Dame betrayal
04/02/2023 Duración: 02h33minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan were all set to have some drunken fun with a "Notre Dame Football Honey-Do List" pod, and then the Alabama Crimson Tide came calling for Tommy Rees to have something for his own - FOR HIS OWN MIKE! And so... in this episode: You don't need a long list of bullet-point topics for this particular show. The fellas go through the fast pace of how we got here with Rees bolting to Bama, and we all feel that the perception and reaction to the news is a little more complicated that "good riddance" or "TRAITOR" even as both are true and false. This wasn't a random coach that got here a couple of years ago, so the debate about how and why requires a nuance that wasn't required for someone like Chip Long. Several lists of possible replacements have surfaced, and the guys tell you why like 98% of the names thrown around are crap. The next hire is absolutely a make-or-break situation for Marcus Freeman, and it is definitely something that a couple of big sacks of cash can help improve the situatio

A very grizzly Notre Dame Football Q&A
23/01/2023 Duración: 02h34minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan make it back to the pod machine after a long break to answer all of your Notre Dame Football questions - and whatever else. In this episode: HELLO! Justify your job - losers! REVIEWS! Best ND game we saw in person. Making our Thomas the Tank Engine feelings clear. Will Notre Dame ditch Under Armour for Nike? Fancy White Castle. The best bear available doesn't need Prozac. The greater of two evils. Worst show endings and how ND fits in. Keeping TEU the TEU we know and love. Can Jordan Botelho be the real villain Notre Dame needs? Hoops stuff. And plenty more weaved in and out of the show. Please RATE and REVIEW! Putting a bow on Notre Dame's 2022 football season
12/01/2023 Duración: 02h30minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan are ready to put a bow on the 2022 Notre Dame football season, and that's the challenge for the pod. In this episode: Hello! Chunky Alfredo sauce and Cubans in the restroom. REVIEWS! Get on this TRAIN! A lot of words in Spanish... or at least it was supposed to be Spanish. Georgia absolutely HOUSED TCU. The Notre Dame double standard for the playoffs. The final polls are in the books. We love Army... but we might also love Akron (whoops). The clown show that is the polls. Tallying up the preseason prop bets, and we're all a bunch of morons. Sam Hartman is just a wonderful offseason addition. Joshua makes and retracts a transfer portal commitment within like 10 minutes... so par for the course. The transfer portal is on fire. College football is just fine and will continue to be just fine. A double dose of sad BK dancing. And plenty more weaved in and out of the podcast. Please RATE and REVIEW! Notre Dame Football and choking on bowl schadenfreude
04/01/2023 Duración: 02h38minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan welcome in the new year for Notre Dame Football with tidings of comfort and joy. In this episode: HELLO! Recasting Dan Brown's world with Indiana Jones because Joshua saw an old cowboy. Scientology and the Amish... basically the same thing. REVIEWS! Notre Dame's Gator Bowl win over the South Carolina Gamecocks. Tyler Buchner's big 7 touchdown day. Notre Dame's dominant 2nd half defense. Jayden Thomas is definitely a number one - even if it's a number one number two. DISCLAIMER: At no point in the podcast did any of the unholy trio mention Mitchell Evan's name, but it was probably Brendan's Michigan blood that was at fault. Heaps of love for Braden Lenzy. Audric Estime should get the ball more, but we love what Logan Diggs does too - this is fun! The choke job we witnessed when the USC Trojans lost to the Tulane Green Wave. Speaking of choke jobs... the Michigan Wolverines had their layup against the TCU Horned Frogs swatted away and we're here to dunk all over it. The s

Sam Hartman is in the portal and Notre Dame takes on the Gamecocks
28/12/2022 Duración: 02h40minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan sit down for a yuletide pod session as Notre Dame prepares to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Gator Bowl. In this episode: HELLO! A couple of bad Christmas gifts and one gift that was really well done. REVIEWS! Villains and recruiting. The Sam Hartman saga is looking like the real thing thanks to Papa Thamel. Hartman as a prospect... we agree he is really good and everyone should jump on this train. Is tampering a real thing or just a social construct? Brendan breaks down the Cocks, and surprise... they might not be a good football team right now. The skeleton crew of South Carolina makes the 2.5 point spread a little strange. How Tyler Buchner will be used. Players we expect to rise for the Irish in the Gator Bowl. HOLY SMOKES there are a lot of bowl games left on the schedule and we give our picks to all of them. And plenty more weaved in and out of the show. Please RATE and REVIEW! All reviews left on Apple Podcasts will be read on the next OFD Podcast. Go

Our Traditional Christmas present to you is Notre Dame’s Hawaii Bowl victory (Game Sound)
23/12/2022 Duración: 01h28minMerry Christmas! We know there is a lot going on this week with the holidays, National Signing Day, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish still have that Gator Bowl date with the South Carolina Gamecocks - but we also can’t forget one of our greatest traditions. Christmas Eve marks the 14th anniversary of Notre Dame’s 49-21 win over the Hawaii Warriors in the Hawaii Bowl. Not only was it a tremendously fun game to watch, it also finally ended Notre Dame’s bowl losing streak that stretched back to their last win in January of 1994. We (Josh, Jude, and Brendan) sat down to watch a one-hour cut-up of the game, and this is the podcast... us commenting all the way through. In fact, there are two versions of this podcast. One has the game sound with it to follow along, and one version has no game sound. The one with no game sound is available so that you can watch a video of the same version of the game while listening to us riff all over it. That YouTube link IS RIGHT HERE. We hope you enjoy whatever version you choos

Notre Dame's National Signing Day is better than you think
21/12/2022 Duración: 02h26minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan unwrap the present of recruiting on National Signing Day Eve so you have something to really get in your feelings for Notre Dame's big recruiting day. In this episode. Hello! The tale of Santa's infidelity is a lie. A healthy musical discussion reveals some valuable information. THIS IS NOTRE DAME'S RECRUITING CLASS! The saga of Peyton Bowen is ongoing and we will talk about it in parallel discussions with him in and with him out. The top half of Notre Dame's recruiting class is one of the best that we seen in a long time. Joshua gives the state of Texas some props. These are some guys we really like. The could of, should of with some of the 5-Star players out there. Kenny Minchey's hair. Resetting your mind with a cut, a shave, and a shower. More bowl picks. Notre Dame's 2022 opponents as Christmas movie villains. Maybe the most controversial statement ever uttered on the show was vomited out of Brendan's mouth. It's a friggin insult. Beavers in Vermont and Notre Dame Football deals with NIL bags
15/12/2022 Duración: 02h24minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan are back on the pod portal and jump in willingly as we count down the days to National Signing Day and Notre Dame's gator Bowl date with the South Carolina Gamecocks. In this episode: HELLO! The beavers in Vermont don't want you there. REVIEWS! Some sort of Texas stuff. Recruiting continues to be insane. Peyton Bowen rumors set the internet on fire. Dealing with the NIL bag and how we should discuss these types of things. Can the Irish get around the NIL stuff with a different transfer portal strategy/policy? TLC strikes again. BOWL GAM PICK-EM! Simping for EMU and hating on Liberty... for America. Will this recruiting class be more like a Brian Kelly recruiting class or nah? And plenty more weaved in and out of the show. Notre Dame to the Gator Bowl and Transfer Portal Madness
06/12/2022 Duración: 02h11minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan flip the switch on the pod machine and were whisked away in a portal to beautiful DUVAL to break down all of the Notre Dame football news you can handle. In this episode: HELLO! Put some respect on cube steak's name. Notre Dame is headed to the Gator Bowl to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks, and Joshua is loving the DUVAL life. How Notre Dame and South Carolina got here... was it a cage match versus the Holiday Bowl? The opening line has the Irish favored over the Cocks... but it moved very early. Drew Pyne is out the door and Jude has some very strong feelings about how that went down. So... who's playing quarterback for the Irish against the Cocks? The transfer portal is open, and boy do we have a lot to say here. Will the Irish land a good QB from the portal? How many Irish players will enter the portal? Does the bowl game performance matter to spring competition? Deion Sanders takes over for the Colorado Buffaloes and we have some thoughts about that. A Matt Camp

Moving on from Notre Dame's loss to USC - HOLDING!
01/12/2022 Duración: 02h36minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan crawl out from underneath the pod bunker to talk about Notre Dame's loss to the USC Trojans, and all of the wild stuff since then - and down the road. In this episode: HELLO! The warmth of a rivalry trophy was still felt in the Vowles household. REVIEWS! Jumping right into the game against USC and it was like a race to get out the hottest of hot takes in style. HOLDING! HOLDING!! HOLDING!!! Caleb Williams is really good and we can admit that. The disrespect of Drew Pyne. The real MVP. USC did to Notre Dame what Notre Dame does to others... and it felt terrible. ABC's broadcast was absolutely criminal. The transfer portal is coming. The CFB Playoff is coming sooner than we thought. Notre Dame's path to play the LSU Tigers in a bowl game. Pod picks for conference championship weekend. And plenty more weaved in and out of the show - like a lot more. Please RATE and REVIEW! All reviews left on Apple Podcasts will be rad on the next OFD Podcast. Go Irish! Learn more about y

OFD Podcast: Make Notre Dame VS USC hateful again
23/11/2022 Duración: 03h01minJoshua, Jude, and Brendan landed on Plymouth Pod and sat down to feast on a show to review Notre Dame's win over the Boston College Eagles, and to preview the regular season finale against the USC Trojans. In this episode: HELLO! Thanksgiving weather. White boots. REVIEWS! Talking the wives into a Real Housewives pod episode. Phil Jurkovec and his nonsense. The Notre Dame quarterback situation. 4-Star Kenny Minchey commits. Getting the stats. Lorenzo Styles and the WR room. NBC's broadcast is pretty bad - like ACC official bad. Reviewing the Boston College game our way. The college football playoff rankings and all the madness around it. Brendan previews USC... how good are they? Weekly game picks.
